Held a Board of Equalization meeting. 9:34 a.m. returned to the regular meeting. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION —Chairman McFarland called for public participation and no one responded. 9:33 a.m. Held a Board of Corrections meeting. 9:38 a.m. Recessed the Board of Corrections meeting for the quarterly jail tour. COUNTY ATTORNEY - A) APPROVE LEASE FOR SOUTH LOCUST FARM AND AUTHORIZE CHAIRMAN TO SIGN THE SAME—The bid opening for the farm lease was held January 14 and the bid was awarded to Travis Rainforth Mr. Rainforth has signed the lease and now the board needs to authorize the chair to sign. Schuppan made a motion and Arnold seconded to authorize the chair to sign the farm lease. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Purdy was absent. Motion carried. B) APPROVE FRANCHISE AGREEMENT WITH CHARTER COMMUNICATIONS AND AUTHORIZE CHAIRMAN TO SIGN THE SAME - Charter Communications contacted Hall County regarding this franchise fees practices. Mr. Zitterkopf stated that the catalyst was the occupation tax that was imposed and it is good business to define the relationship through the franchise agreement. He reviewed the agreement and did not see anything offensive and is requesting to approve and authorize the chair to sign. Ziola made a motion and Quandt seconded to approve the franchise agreement and authorize the chair to sign. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Purdy was absent. Motion carried. 2
