<br />Enter~d~a~d~scussion on salary step increase to appointed officials and
<br />having an evaluation at the end of budget year. Frauen made motion,
<br />seconded by Hartman to discontinue to have merit increases for appointed
<br />officials and management positions. Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Quandt and
<br />Stelk voted yes, Abernethy and Leslie voted no. Motion carried.

<br />3:00 P.M. Frauen made motion, seconded by Abernethy to open bids to
<br />tuckpointing of the courthouse. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis,
<br />Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Bids were opened
<br />and read. Karr Tuckpointing of Vinton, Iowa bidding $67,400 and
<br />Weidner Williams Co. of Omaha bidding $92,824. Motion made:py:Hartman,
<br />seconded by Frauen to accept and refer thebids,tocthe courthouse~
<br />renovation committee. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Leslie,
<br />Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no.

<br />Fire Chief Rowell ask to borrow $45,000 for an emergency unit with
<br />this amount being pa~d back to the county with in 3 years by Fonner
<br />Park. Hartman made motion, seconded by Frauen asking Attorney Jerry
<br />Janulewicz to draw up the contract in this matter. Abernethy, Frauen,
<br />Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none votedcno.
<br />Fire Chief Rowell said he would get with the Attorney concerning this.

<br />Milt Moravek, Central Platte NRD, presented a comprehensive plan for
<br />historic, sceniG and safety program for crane watbhing along the
<br />Platte river in Hall County, in whiCh there would be off road parking
<br />for crane watchers. Abernethy made motion to approve thecc9ncept of
<br />these plans, Stelk seconded this motion. Abernethy, Landis, Leslie,
<br />Quandt and Stelk voted yes, Hartman and Frauen voted no. Motion carried.

<br />Landis made motion, seconded by Stelk to advertise for the replacement
<br />of Clerk of District Cour~ Sundays the 23rd & 30th in the Grand Island
<br />Independent, Omaha World Herald, Lincoln Star and the County Line
<br />publication, a.sking.J::.!1e clerks office to.:fiorm the ad and place in the
<br />above papers. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and
<br />Stelk voted yes, none voted no.
