<br />?3r- / RC) <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />HALL COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING, JUNE 8, 1993 <br /> <br />lr <br /> <br />The Hall County Board of Supervisors met at 9:00 a.m. from adjourned session <br />and by published call with Chairman Gary Quandt presiding. <br /> <br />Present on roll call were Irene Abernethy, Richard Frauen, Richard Hartman, <br />Margaret Landis, Robert Leslie, Gary Quandt and Tammie Stelk. None were absent. <br /> <br />Invocation was given by Abernethy. <br /> <br />Pledge of Allegiance was given. <br /> <br />Minutes of June 1st meeting were accepted as received, on motion by Stelk, <br />seconded by Frauen. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and <br />Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />u_ <br />Deputy County Attorney~~om-Janulewicz was present. <br /> <br />Tort Claim from Bailey, Pickering & Stock,Attorneys, Cheyenne, Wyoming was <br />presented IN RR: Robert L.jSuzanne M.jAshley and Tiffany Holly, in connection <br />with accident June 28, 1992 at approximately 9:20 p.m. at intersection of <br />North Custer and West State Steet in City of Grand Island, for damages suff- <br />ered by claimants. <br />Deputy Attorney recommended claim be tabled for further action, have <br />referred to insurance carrier, at present time no County Sheriff officers <br />were involved in chase. <br />Motion by Frauen, seconded by Hartman to accept recommendation and <br />table claim until further direction from Deputy Attorney or Insurance Company. <br />Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none <br />voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Letter was received from Daniel Hostler, Public Works Director in regard <br />to feasiblity of closing a portion of Loup River Road and Engleman Road <br />described. <br />Motion by Frauen, seconded by Hartman to accept letter of recommendation <br />from Public Works Director for closing the road and have Hostler/and Deputy <br />Attorney Janulelwicz coordinate with Howard County for setting the Public <br />hearing. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted <br />yes, none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Gerard Piccolo, Hall County Public Defender spoke with the board in regard <br />to his 1992-1993 office budget. He requested additional $1500.00 be placed <br />in his budget for 1992-1993 year. Stated reasons were witness fees, dues <br />and copy machine repairs. <br />Motion by Landis, seconded by Abernethy to transfer $1500.00 from Misc- <br />ellaneous, MiscellanousGeneral budget to Public Defender's budget and have <br />County Attorney prepare a resolution. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, <br />Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Dan Hostler, Public Works Director and Deputy Attorney Janulewicz returned to <br />meeting with recommendation to set Public Hearing for July 27th. <br />Motion by Frauen, seconded by Abernethy to set July 27, 1993 at 10:00 a.m. <br />for Public Hearing to consider closing Loup River Road. Abernethy, Frauen, <br />Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />Discussion on District Judges 1992-1993 budget. Ellen Merrill, County Board <br />Assistant reported the reason for the overdrafts in the budget and would not <br />know exact amount until next week. <br />Supervisor Landis stated recommends taking no action today. Should not <br />be Board Assistant's duty to report on over spending on budget and have Judge <br />Livingston or a representative present the case. <br />Determined would visit with Judge Livingston on Thursday, when he is <br />scheduled to present the 1993-1994 budget. <br /> <br />Final Plats were presented for consideration. <br />Jessica Subdivision, located on the east side of St. Paul Road approximately <br />3/4 mile north of Capital Avenue. <br /> <br />Lonesome Oak Subdivision, located on east side of Schauppsville Road, approx- <br />imately 600 feet south of Schultz Road <br /> <br />Ostermeier Subdivision, located on north side of White Cloud Road, approxi- <br />mately 1/2 mile east of U.S. Highwy 281. <br /> <br />Letters from Regional Planning Director were presented that the Planning <br />Commission had recommended the County Board approve the final plats as <br />submitted. <br />
