<br />o/'3r-/3CJ /;Z <br /> <br />Stel~ reported on Criminal Justice Committee meetings she attended. <br /> <br />,Abernethy reported attended Criminal Justice Committee meetings and also meeting <br />with Social Servicespepa~tmerit representatives <br /> <br />Chairman Quandt recessed the meeting at 4:32 p.m. until Thursday morning,April <br />22nd at 9:00 A.M. for couple hours to finish the items on the agenda. <br /> <br />BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING, APRIL 22, 1993 <br /> <br />The Hall County Board of Supervisors met at 9:00 A.M. from recess of meeting <br />Tuesday, April 20, 1993 with Chairman Quandt presiding. <br /> <br />Present were Irene Abernethy, Richard Frauen, Margaret Landis, Robert Leslie, <br />Gary Quandt and Tammie Stelk. Absent was Richard Hartman <br /> <br />Invocation was given by Abernethy. <br /> <br />Pledge of Allegiance was given. <br /> <br />John Wagoner, Attorney spoke briefly to the Board Members in regard to taxes. <br />and stated we don't need a new jail, and to consider the tax payers of Hall <br />County. <br /> <br />Ellen Merrill, County Board Assistant report: (1) Howard Maxon, Communications <br />& Civil Defense Director reported hit and run accident with county vehicle. <br />Question was raised as to where $250.00 deductible was paid from, and should <br />ci ty share cost. . . <br />Motion by Frauen, seconded by Abernethy to pay the,deductablel from <br />insurance adjustment line same as other insurance claims are paid. <br />Frauen, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, Landis voted no, with <br />absent. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Misc general <br />Abernethy, <br />Hartman <br /> <br />Discussion on letter received from Supt of Schools, Dr Colman in regard to <br />purchase of new computer for his office. Dr. Colman was absent from office <br />so visited with his secretary about the use of the computer.~-::ReconUn:enaa~tion <br />is to see if present computer could be repaired, and recommendatlo-flJ:.-s-1:0-~u- <br />purchase IBM compatable computer if new one is purchased. <br /> <br />Supervisor Hartman arrived at 9:25 a.m. during the computer discussion. <br /> <br />Chairman Quandt questioned the plan to review budgets this year, if after <br />review or study of each budget to just call in certain ones or if wished to <br />visit with each department again this year. Will discuss later when budgets <br />start to come in and after property valuation protests are completed. <br /> <br />Joel Dalton, Correction Director visited with the Board Members in regard to <br />salaries for correction officers. Also about the need for desks, chairs and <br />file cabinets and possible shelving for office space. Building & Grounds <br />Committee to meet and make recommendation to full board at next Tuesday's <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Board Assistant requested looking at microfilming County Court records from <br />this year's budget and free up vault space in courthouse. Estimated cost of <br />$12,000.00 which is in the microfilm budget line. <br />Motion by Abernethy, seconded by Stelk to authorize County Court permission <br />to use fundsfrommisc general- microfilm line to complete microfilming this <br />budget year. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk <br />voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Board Assistant reported the courthouse roof is no longer leaking and need to <br />look at specs to paint the courthouse dome as funds were set aside in this years <br />budget. (2) Dare Program graduations are to be held at various school locations <br />and request some board members attend the ceremonies. (3) Stepanek reported <br />bids on ADA reqirements for doors were $847.00 to $771.00 for courthouse and <br />administration buildings. Will accept the low proposal of $771.00 (4) Spoke <br />briefly in regard to Disaster relief and also LB306 recently passed. (5) In <br />regard to gumball machine being placed in administration building. Board members <br />had no objections since are already machines in building. (6) reported on the <br />claim for autopsy fee she had visited with County Attorney about. (7) Public <br />Defender's office reported transcribing machine needs replaced and if could <br />trade in old machine or must is be sold at county auction. ( board members <br />authorized trade in). <br /> <br />Bookmobile Committee will meet with City Library Board on Tuesday, April 27th <br />at 8:00 p.m. Building & Grounds Committee will meet at 2:30 this afternoon. <br />Meeting with Joe Toczek, Northwest High today at 1:30 p.m. in regard to the <br />Superintendent.df Schools office. <br /> <br />Discussion on salaries for appointed department heads. No action was taken <br />
