She <br />presented'letter and application for county board consideration. Request is <br />for $29,280.00 for 2 year and applications are due by February 10, 1993. Funds <br />requested is to fund expanding shelter space to accommodate the waiting list of <br />persons needing shelter. <br />Motion by Abernethy, seconded by Leslie to approve the request and auth- <br />orize chairman to sign letter and applica1:~on_for McKinney grant to the <br />Nebraska Department of Social Services~equesting$29,280.00 Abernethy, <br />Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and SEeTk voted yes, none voted no. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Lauri Shultis, presented each board member with copy of Crisis Center Hall <br />County Stats for July-Dec 1992 compared to 1989 thru 1992 stats. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br /> <br />Hartman, Chairman Public Works Committee stated the committee recommends <br />accepting the bids of Wilson Concrete ,for Concrete $20,16Q"(W and'Midwest <br />Sales corrected bid of $31,928.12 <br />:, ,Motion by Hartman, seconded, by Landis to accept committee recommendation <br />and accept bids of Wilson Concrete and Midwest Sales. Aber~ethy, Frauen, <br />Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br />Hartman reported on the County Treasurer's investments with Five Points Bank. <br /> <br />Abernethy reported on Head Start Meeting, Safety Kleen open house, Keno <br />meeting, meeting with Ed Armstrong on College Park; Region III Mental <br />Health Advisory Board meeting, and the tour with janitorial services. <br /> <br />Leslie and Ste,lk'al:so added information in regard to the 1::our.~with janitorial <br />services made by Building & Grounds committee members. <br />Leslie stated the County smoking policy needs looked at and needs to be <br />enforced. <br /> <br />Stelk reported on Election & Legislation committee report. <br /> <br />Quandt reported on Industrial Foundation meeting he attended. <br /> <br />Ellen Merrill, County Board Assistant report: (1) schedule a personnel <br />meeting with officials (2) Public Works Committee needs to meet this <br />week to discuss one and six year road plan so can forward to Regional <br />Planning Commission, set Wednesday J,anuary~2.;7;-a.tl:00 p.m. (3) Schwartzkopf <br />Weed Superintendent has had Weed Board Member's bond changed as requested <br />(4) Tammie Hein, McDermott & Miller called with answers to Board Members <br />questions from their audit meeting (5) NIRMA Educational Day is iFeb:r;:1!ary ',' <br />17th at Ramada Inn, Kearney, in connection with County Board Workshop on-- <br />February 17 & 18th (Merrill & Leslie will attend the NIRMA Board meeting <br />and the Educational Day.
