Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt <br />and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Stelk - Senior Citizens meeting tomorrow <br />Convention Visitors meeting tomorrow <br />Landis - Reuse Committee meeting, Thursday October 13th at 7 P.M. <br />Abernethy - Weed Control meeting <br /> <br />Ellen Merrill, County Board Assistant, had a letter for each board <br />member to sign to be sent to Eldon Poppe with the State Roadway Design <br />Engineer concerning the boards opposing the closing of the AIda Inter- <br />change: rest area. Told board that she had received the Madison County <br />October report of expenditures and was on file in her office. Wanted <br />to know how many of the board members planned to attend the state <br />convention in Omaha December 6,7 & 8th. Reported that Mr. Colman, <br />School Supt. inquired as to the equipment he had in his office, was <br />it to be transferred elsewhere. The board wants it left in his office <br />as the new person doing that job is suppose to have the equipment also. <br /> <br />Don Shuda, Veterans Service Officier, reported that County Government <br />day was set for November 22nd. The day was changed to November 15th <br />as the 22nd is claim day. He and the board members reviewed the schedule <br />for the morning time of that day. Also talked about the schedule for <br />the afternoon. Judges will be contacted in regards to the students <br />coming into the court rooms. The board would like to have a regular <br />meeting in the afternoon and let students attend. Shuda inquired about <br />his salary adjustment and if this amount was to be transferred to his <br />budget? The Chairman said this decission would be made later in morning. <br /> <br />Ed Edwards, Health Director and Rich Stepanek, Building & Grounds <br />discussed thepossiblity of the Health department moving into the <br />Childrens Village building. Edwards said that it would need remodeling <br />some with an addition for the WIC program of 3 or 4 thousand sq ft. <br />Rick indicated that parking would very difficult at the Childrens Village <br />building, however he did have a plan for one but would need to know <br />which side of the building it would be needed and then it would be very <br />hard to have one just for our employees and that departments business <br />as the parking spaces in the area are very limited. Edwards indicated <br />that he was not really interested in moving. <br /> <br />Stepanek said he had tw~~hLd_s_for _J.lDJ:ler-9'xQ\l..nd_storage . tanks .-- <br />Yant Equipment bid was $11,125.62 and Petroleum Equfpment was <br />Motion made by Quandt and seconded by Frauen to authorize the <br />the tanks. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt <br />voted yes, none voted no. <br /> <br />$11,544.35. <br />removal of <br />and Stelk <br /> <br />Stepanek told the Board that Judge Livingston had approached him about <br />installing some sound equipment that was already in his office but need- <br />ed some modifications. Stepanek had gotten some prices on the installation. <br />Rons Music - $3771.00, Midwest Audio - $2348.00 and Edwards Stero _ <br />$3968.19. Motion by Landis, seconded by Abernethy to have the work done <br />and is to come out of District Court budget. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, <br />Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. <br /> <br />Landis reported that the Road department had billed for placement of <br />Husker_Harvest signs. She also reported that she had calls concerning <br />the intersection of Bismark & GunBarrel Road to be a 4way stop instead <br />of a stop in 3 directions. Also calls on the bump on the south side <br />of the bridge on GunBarrel and also dangerous intersection at 13th & <br />Engleman Road. Motion made by Quandt, seconded by Stelk to refer these <br />matters to Dan Hostler and Dick Hartman. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, <br />Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. <br />
