<br />t. <br /> <br />'1~f'- /7 /2- <br /> <br />HALL COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING, <br /> <br />JUNE 14, 1994 <br /> <br />;.f <br /> <br />The Hall County Board of Supervisors ~et at 9:00 a.m. fr~m.adjourned session <br />and by published call with Chairman R1chard Hartman pres1d1ng. <br /> <br />Present on roll call were Irene Abernethy, Richard Frauen,-, Richard Hartman, <br />Margaret Landis, Robert Leslie, Gary Quandt and Tammie Stelk. None were <br />absent. <br /> <br />Invocation was given by Abernethy. <br /> <br />Pledge of Allegiance was given. <br /> <br />Minutes of June 7th meeting were approved as received after corrections made <br />by Stelk. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted <br />yes, none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />County Attorney's office was not represented. <br /> <br />The Instructor and 9 students from Senior High School Government Class were <br /> <br />present. <br /> <br />Motion by Frauen, seconded by Stelk to approve renewal of Amusement License <br />for Hall County Agricultural Society for I year. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, <br />Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Motion by Quandt, seconded by Frauen to recess for Board of Equalization <br />meeting. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted <br />yes, none voted no. Motion carried. <br />Board of Equalization meeting 9:10 A.M. and returned to regular session,at <br />9:18 a.m. <br /> <br />The following written Public Works Committee report was presented. <br /> <br />The Public Works Committee recommends that the Hall ~ounty <br />Board of Supervisors accept the bid of Nebraska Mach1~ery Co. <br />for the amount of $ 116,287.00 for One (1) New Caterp1llar <br />140G Motor Grader with the trade-in of One (1) 1973 . <br />Caterpillar 120 Motor Grader, SIN 10R3151. The COmm1ttee d <br />also recommends that the buy-back of $ 97,718.00 be accep~e , <br />which would make the hourly cost of $ 2.65/hour to own th1s <br /> <br />motor grader. .. . I / / /---, <br /> <br />/l.-~~ <br /> <br />Richard Hartman -Chairman <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Motion by Frauen, seconded by Leslie to accept the Public Works Committee <br />recommendation to accept bid of Nebraska Machinery Co, with buy back option <br />and authorize chairman to sign contract. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, <br />Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Discussion with Bill Bean, Weed Control Authority Superintendent and Dan <br />Hostler, Public Works Director in regard to roadside spraying. <br />Jack Niemoth and Bob Humiston, Jr Weed Control Board Members were present <br />during the discussion. <br />Discussion was spot spraying roadside vs solid spraying. Bean stated if solid <br />spraying is not done, estimated revenue in his budget will not be met. <br />Hostler recommended spot spraying for one year and not do the blanket spraying. <br />Also discussed the need to adopt policy to set up schedule for labor, services <br />and chemical reimbursement. <br />Chairman placed the policy on agenda for June 28th meeting. <br /> <br />Jerry Ryan, Midland Area Agency on Aging and Lois Stienike, Senior Citizens <br />Industries were present and presented information on the annual budget request. <br />1994-1995 request for membership fee $5928.00 and funding request $17,250.00 <br />for total request of $23,178.00 Also pending for past 5 years has been the <br />retirement program for Hall County employees of Senior Citizens Industries and <br />request $2500.00 for this fiscal year again as think the 501C(3) number should <br />be received to p~ace the program in use this fiscal year. <br /> <br />Izola Sargent, Handibus Director and Lois Stienike spoke in regard to the <br />Transportation facilities for Hall County. Requested a meeting be set up <br />for those involved with transportation. Chairman Hartman stated they are <br />working on date and time for such meeting. <br />
