<br />Jeff Hayman returned to board meeting with report on his visit with County
<br />Treasurer on the personal property tax for Corner Pocket. Hayman stated
<br />will pay personal property tax, but doesn't think they should have to pay
<br />the interest and penalty since they never received the notice. Board members
<br />requested he get information in writing, be placed on next week's agenda and
<br />will visit with County Attorney for information.
<br />
<br />Hall County Treasurer's written report on settlement of Treasurer with Hall
<br />County Board per section 77-1745 RRA of Nebraska 1943, with Semi-Atinual
<br />statment as of December 31, 1993 attached.
<br />Motion by Frauen, seconded by Abernethy to accept settlement report and
<br />place on file. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and
<br />Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried.

<br />Discussion on on letting bids for conflictoE interest court appointed counsel.
<br />Landis reported she had visited with Public Defender Piccolo and he estimated
<br />50 to 60 cases would need a third attorney. Decided to advertise for the
<br />juvenile cases only and advertise in Grand Island Independeht, and newspapers
<br />in Hastings, Kearney, Wood River, Caito, Doniphan, Central City and St Paul.
<br />Motion by Landis, seconded by Quandt to place ad in papers suggested
<br />for the conflict of interest cases. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis,
<br />Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried.

<br />Ellen Merrill, County Board Assistant gave weekly update report with reminders
<br />of committee meetings. She presented letter prepared for chairman's signa-
<br />ture to the Washington Level Review Center in regard to Lower Wood Riverl
<br />Upper Warm Slough flood diversion project. Discussion followed.
<br />Motion by Frauen, seconded by Leslie to accept letter as written and
<br />authorize chairman to sign and mail. Abernethy, Frauen, Landis, Leslie
<br />and Stelk voted yes, Hartman and Quandt voted no. Motion carried.

<br />Merrill reported she had received two proposals for chairs for board members
<br />from Sam's Club and Eakes Office. Proposals for carpet for of.ficeat County
<br />Court from Carpet Plus, Floor to Ceiling and JohnsonCashway.
<br />Motion by Quandt, seconded by Landis to accept the low bid from Carpet
<br />Plus for $1241.61 Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quaiidtand'
<br />Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried.

<br />Discussion on changing time for Board of Corrections Meeting. Agreed to
<br />change from 1:30 p.m. until 10:30 a.m. on the fourth Tuesday each month.
<br />Criminal Justice Committee to set a monthly meeting.
