<br />" <br /> <br />C/5F"- OZ5~ <br /> <br />Chairman Abernethy presented letter she had received from Carl Brasee <br />in regard to article in Grand Island Independent August 9th in regard <br />to Weed Board. <br /> <br />Letter was presented from West Nebraska Juvenile Services, Gering Nebraska <br />in regard to West Nebraska Juvenile Services for juvenile detention' in <br />Nebraska. Requested copy of letter be sent to Correction Director Joel <br />Dalton, and the County and District Judges. <br /> <br />..3 i <br /> <br />County Board Assistant Ellen Merrill report: <br /> <br />(1) Asked the evaluation forms she had given each board member be <br />returned as soon as possible. <br /> <br />(2) Needed date set for board members to attend luncheon at Housing <br />Authority. <br /> <br />(3) Sheriff Fosket had submitted the bids received for copier for his <br />office. <br />Motion by Landis, seconded by Leslie to recommend Sheriff accept the low <br />bid from Modern Methods $6454.00 for- copier. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, <br />Leslie, Rosenkotter and Stelk voted yes, none voted no, with Quandt absent. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Jan Pelland, County Assessor came to meeting and reported she had just <br />received phone call from State Department of Revenue and the State Board <br />of Equalization had rescinded their vote of yesterday and will leave Hall <br />County valuations at 98 percent and not make the change as requested. <br /> <br />Recessed at 12:00 noon and returned to regular session at 1:30 P.M. <br />Present were Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Rosenkotter and Stelk, <br />absent was Quandt. <br /> <br />Board Assistant continued her report <br />(4) Driver's Testing give motorcycle testing from 8:00 to 9:00 A.M. each <br />Tuesday and Thursday in parking lot and have had complaints of no <br />space for. county employees to park at 8:30 <br /> <br />(5) NACO Annual Convention to be held in Omaha, October 17 thru 19, 1995 <br />and needed to know how many board members plan to attend so reserva- <br />tions could be made. <br /> <br />COUNTY BOARD MEMBER REPORTS: <br /> <br />Rosenkotter commented on the State Board of Equalization meeting she <br />attended with the County Assessor last Friday in Lincoln. <br /> <br />Hartman commented on State Board of Equalization meeting he attended. <br /> <br />Landis commenlred on the State Board of Equalization meeting she attended. <br /> <br />Leslie reported on meeting yesterday with Dale 'Johnson State DPI Department <br /> <br />Abernethy reported she attended the DPI meeting also and they attended a <br />Mental Health & Substance Abuse meeting at College Park <br /> <br />Landis asked if Board members still wish to go the the Court of Appeals <br />on the State Board of Equalization decision. <br /> <br />Landis reported in regard to Madison County Public Defender wishes to <br />hav~ a ~ontract with Hall County. 'Board needs a committee to look <br />into this reqeust. Abernethy appointed Landis, Hartman and Leslie <br />to serve on Committee with Attorney Janulewicz to check with Madison County. <br /> <br />2:05 P.M. Continued worksession on 1995-1996 Hall County Budget. <br />Discussion on budget 2 percent inpreases. <br /> <br />Hartman received a returned phone call from Ted Hunt, B&T Vending and the <br />new vending machines for County buildings are due next week. He stated <br />the Kiwanis Club gumball-candy machines can remain in the buildings. <br /> <br />Supervisor Quandt arrived at the meeting at 2:18 P.M. <br /> <br />Discussion on salary survey for Weed Superintendent. <br />Motion by Rosenkotter, seconded by Hartman to set the Weed Super-~ <br />intendent salary at $24,835.37 for 1995-1996 based on the salary survey. <br />
