Collins, 1003 West Louise, appeared before the Board <br />of Equalizatio:r:L.tQ_aJ:?peal the denial of her homestead exemption. <br />Ms. Collins e~lainad her situation and presented documentation <br />supporting her disability. The board advised her to have her <br />new doctor complete the 458B form correctly and resubmit it to <br />the County Assessor's office then she would receive the exemption. <br />Jan Pelland was asked to sit in on this. The Homestead Exemption <br />filing deadline has been extended to April 30. <br /> <br />Jan Pelland, County Assessor, reported to the board that they <br />have extended the informal hearings through Friday, March 31. <br />Discussion was held on the mailing problems on the notices and <br />the largenumber of the informal protests. Pelland explained the <br />formalreferee system utilizing Great Plain~ services. Discussion <br />J . <br />followed. Stelk made a mot1on and Rosenkotter seconded to use <br />the formalreferee system. Abernethy, Hartman, Leslie, Rosenkotter, <br />and Stelk voted yes. The notices need to be mailed 10 days before the hearing. <br />The Board of Equalization will need to set formal hearing dates <br />after April 15. <br /> <br />McDermott and Miller presented the final audit on the Clerk of ". .. Quandt made motion and Leslie seconded to accept low <br />bid. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt, Rosenkotter and <br />Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. <br /> <br />Dan Hostler presented the Public Works Committee Report on the <br />bids for culverts. Quandt made motion and Hartman seconded to <br />accept and place on file the Public Works report. Abernethy, <br />Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt, Rosenkotter and Stelk all voted <br />yes and none voted no. <br />
