<br />y ~ l~ -'3'l~ <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />HALL COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISOR MEETING, DECEMBER 17, 1996 <br /> <br />~he Hall County Board of Supervisors met at 9:00 a.m. from adjourned session <br />. and by published call, in County Board meeting room, 121 South Pine, Grand <br />Island. <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by Vice Chair Robert Leslie. <br /> <br />INVOCATION: Invocation was given by Rev. Roberto Rojas, Church of Christ <br />Lamb of God, Grand Island. <br /> <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: The Pledge of Allegiance was given in unis6n~ <br /> <br />ROLL CALL: Present on roll call were Irene Abernethy, Richard Hartman, <br />Margaret Landis, Robert Leslie, Huey Long and Gary Quandt. <br />Absent was Tammie Stelk. <br /> <br />PRESENT: Present were Jerom Janulewicz, Deputy County Attorney, Pamela <br />Lancaster, County Board Member elect, news media representatives <br />Carol Bryant, Grand Island Independent and Traci Overstreet, KRGI <br />Radio. Arriving during! the meeting were News Representatives <br />from KHAS-TV 5, KHOL-TV 10/11 and NTV 13. <br /> <br />MINUTES OF DECEMBER 10th MEETING: Motion by Hartman, seconded by Quandt <br />to accept minutes of meetihgas received. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, <br />Leslie, Long and Quandt voted yes, none voted no, Stelk was absent. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />COUNTY ATTORNEY: Attorney Janulewicz spoke in regard to the blanket bond <br />for County Officers excluding the County Treasurer. He presented resolution <br />for consideration. <br />RESOLUTION #96-0075: Motion by Hartman, seconded by Abernethy to adopt <br />Resolution #96-0075 as presented. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, <br />"Long and Quandt voted yes, none voted no. Stelk was absent. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #96- tJ ~ ~ b <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FURNISHING OF A BLANKET BOND FOR <br />COUNTY OFFICERS EXCLUDING THE COUNTY TREASURER <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in lieu of individual bonds for county officers, Neb.Rev.Stat. ~ 11-119 <br />permits the furnishing of a blanket bond in an amount which, at a minimum, equals the <br />aggregate of the individual bond amounts fixed by law or by the county board; and <br /> <br />. <br />WHEREAS, by Resolution #790 adopted September 13, 1983, the Hall County Board of <br />Supervisors fixed the bond amounts for Hall County officers; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the aggregate amount of the bonds fIXed by Resolution #790, excluding the <br />bond fixed for the Hall County Treasurer, equals the amount of$155,500; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Hall County Board of Supervisors desires that a blanket bond be <br />furnished for all county officers except the County Treasurer; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Hall County Board of Supervisors purchased a blanket bond for all <br />county officers and employees, said bond having a coverage limit of $200,000. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HALL COUNTY BOARD OF <br />SUPERVISORS as follows: <br /> <br />1. The furnishing of a blanket bond in lieu of individual bonds is hereby authorized and <br />approved for all Hall County officers except the County Treasurer. <br /> <br />2. The amount of said blanket bond shall equal or exceed $155,500. <br /> <br />3. An individual bond in the amount of $500,000 shall continue to be required of the Hall <br />County Treasurer. <br /> <br />4. The individual bond amounts fIXed by resolution #790 shall remain in effect for purposes of <br />fIXing the minimum aggregate amount of the blanket bond authorized by this resolution. <br />
