<br />.. <br /> <br />9~~--;(f~ <br />HALL COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISOR MEETING, SEPTEMBER 10, 1996 <br /> <br />The Hall County Board of supervisors met at 9:00 a.m. from adjourned session <br />and by published call in County Board meeting room, 121 South pine, Grand <br />Island. <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by Chair Tammie Stelk. <br /> <br />INVOCATION: Invocation was given by Rev. Jesse Bostwick. <br /> <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: The Pledge of Allegiance was given. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL: Present on roll call were Irene Abernethy, Richard Hartman, <br />Margaret Landis, Robert Leslie, Huey Long, Gary Quandt and <br />Tammie Stelk. None were absent. <br /> <br />PRESENT were Deputy Attorney Jerom Janulewicz, Deputy Attorney Mark Young, <br />News media representatives Carol Bryant Grand Island Independent <br />and representative from KHAS TV-5. <br /> <br />MINUTES SEPTEMBER 3rd MEETING: Motion by Leslie, seconded by Long to accept <br />minutes as corrected and place on file for County Board Supervisor and the <br />Board of Equalization meetings. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Long, <br />Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />COUNTY ATTORNEY: <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION: Motion by Leslie, seconded by Abernethy to recess for <br />Executive session to discuss with the attorneys the update information on <br />the Public Defender Organization negotiations. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, <br />Leslie, Long, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION at 9:12 a.m. Deputy Attorney Janulewicz and Young were <br />present. Also present during session was Attorney John Wolf. <br />Motion by Quandt, seconded by Leslie to return to regular session. Abernethy, <br />Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Long, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />REGULAR SESSION: Returned to regular session at 10:22 a.m. <br /> <br />News media representative Tracy Overstreet was present. Also present were <br />Public Works Director Dan Hostler and Regional Planning Director Dave Barber. <br />PUBLIC PARTICIPATION: <br /> <br />Torn Lauvetz, 1011 N. Kansas, Hastings, Nebraska spoke in regard to property <br />he owns at Platte River Road & Monitor Road, near Doniphan which he will make <br />his home soon. He explained the location and spoke in regard to County Board <br />action last week to have him move fence, trees and gate. He presented maps <br />of area, pictures taken of the area in question. He presented several hand- <br />outs for board members to review. He asked any Board Member to corne view <br />the area in person. <br />Donald Cox, 2731 Regal Drive, Hastings, Nebraska also spoke, He owns <br />property adjacent to the Shields and Lauvetz properties. He presented each <br />board member with a written letter for their consideration. <br />Deputy Attorney Janulewicz spoke, letter to Mr. Lauvetz has just <br />been mailed. He stated he has reviewed the records and seems County Board <br />opened a township road in this area. <br />Mr. Lauvetz stated owners of adjacent property are Mary Lanning Trust, <br />Shields, Cox and himself. <br />Chair Stelk stated it has been referred to County Attorney's office and <br />will wait for research and recommendation from them. <br /> <br />HALL COUNTY HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT ANNUAL REPORT, FISCAL YEAR 1995-1996. <br />Dan Hostler, Public Works Director presented the 1995-1996 annual report and <br />answered questions. <br />Motion by Hartman, seconded by Abernethy to accept report and place on <br />file. Supervisor Landis recommended the Public Works Committee should <br />review the annual report before it is presented to the Board. Abernethy, <br />Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Long, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE REPORT: Hartman, Chairman of Public Works Committee <br />read the following committee report. <br /> <br />The Hall County Pubic Works Committee recommends the Hall County Board of <br />Supervisors receive bids of Project No. C40(258), a twin 8' x 3' x 40' Concrete Box <br />Culvert. Bids to be received until 16'00 a m. on Sept. 24, 1996. <br />
