<br />Motion by Quandt, seconded by Abernethy to accept the bids received and refer
<br />to the Public Works Committee and Director for recommendation. Abernethy,
<br />Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Long, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no.

<br />PROPERTY, WEST OF DONIPHAN: Dan Hostler, Public Works Director reported on
<br />the road west of Doniphan where a fence has been placed down middle of a town-
<br />ship road.
<br />Robert Shields, 4363 W platte River Road, Doniphan spoke in regard to
<br />the property in question. He gave his views of the fence.
<br />.Duane Skrdlant, 12075 S. Buffalo Road, Doniphan also spoke.
<br />Motion by Hartman, seconded by Landis to have County Attorney draft and send
<br />letter to Mr. Lauvetz to have trees moved, gate moved and fence moved back to
<br />where they belong. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Long, Quandt and
<br />Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion Carried.

<br />OFFICE REPORTS: Motion by Quandt, seconded by Abernethy to accept and place
<br />on file the reports received from Mid-Plains Center for professional Services
<br />and Communications/Emergency Management Department. Abernethy, Hartman,
<br />Landis, Leslie, Long, Quandt and Ste1k voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried.
<br />
<br />COMMUNICATIONS: Abernethy stated she appreciated the new1etter received from
<br />Mid Nebraska Individual Services and also the statistics report from Mid-Plains
<br />Center.
<br />Motion by Quandt, seconded by Long to accept and place on file the communi-
<br />cations received. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Long, Quandt and Stelk
<br />voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried.
<br />
<br />COUNTY BOARD ASSISTANT REPORT: Ellen Merrill had provided written progress
<br />report. Reported she would be attending a Transportation meeting in Kearney
<br />with Tammie on Thursday, and NIRMA Meeting in Kearney on Friday. Supervisors
<br />Leslie and Long also plan to attend.

<br />Quandt -Attended Midland Area Agency on Aging meeting.

<br />Landis - Gave a report on the Reuse Committee meeting, and attended Audit
<br />Committee meeting. Leslie had also attended these two meetings.

<br />Chair Stelk recessed the meeting at 10:40 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
<br />
<br />Returned to regular session at 11:00 a.m. Chair Stelk was absent as was taking
<br />care of some other County business at this time.
<br />Vice Chairman Leslie called the meeting back to order.
<br />
<br />PUBLIC WORK COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: Hartman, Chairman of Committee reported
<br />the committee recommends accepting the low bid for asphalt projects.
<br />Motion by Hartman, seconded by Quandt to accept the low bid from Gary
<br />Smith Construction $378,819.00 for asphalt projects and to return the bid bonds
<br />to the unsuccessful bidders and authorize chairman to sign the contract.
<br />Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Long and Quandt voted yes, none voted no.,
<br />Stelk was absent. Motion carried.
