<br />David McGrath spoke to the Board in regard to operating hours at the Hall
<br />County Park, he requested longer hours during crane and wildlife m~gration.
<br />Chairman Stelk referred the request to the Park Committee for recommendation.
<br />
<br />Mary Kay Shay, Election Commissioner was called to the meeting in regard
<br />to letter received from Adams Central High School in regard to billing for
<br />the costs of $593.00 for Primary Election costs.
<br />Discussed the number of petition Election Commissioner Office has
<br />received and task of checking all the names required.

<br />COUNTY BOARD ASSISTANT REPORT: Ellen Merrill gave weekly progress report.
<br />She reported on a Public Information Officers course to be held in Lincoln
<br />Nebraska August 20 - 22, 1996 Howard Maxon, Communications Director
<br />thought it might be good for me to attend as the county's P.I.O. for
<br />emergency situation such as natural disasters.
<br />Motion by Quandt, seconded by Abernethy to authorize Board Assistant
<br />to attend the training session August 20 - 22 in Lincoln. Abernethy,
<br />Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Long, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no.

<br />BOARD MEMBER REPORTS:

<br />Landis - reported on CAAP Reuse Committee. Jerry Janulewicz and Andy Baird
<br />will go to Washington DC July 22, as representatives to help select the
<br />consultant. They have received 5 proposal from applicants.

<br />Hartman - None
<br />
<br />Long - reported on the water problem discussed with Public Works Committee
<br />and they will work for a solution.
<br />
<br />Abernethy - Attended a meeting in Kearney for Mental Health Advisory
<br />Committees.
<br />
<br />Leslie - Attended EPC meeting.
<br />Stelk Attended Insurance Committee meeting.

<br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

<br />Landis requested discussion on the proposal for investigation of court costs.
<br />Ellen Merrill, County Board Assistant read the proposal received.
<br />Motion by Landis, seconded by Leslie to hire National Center for State
<br />Courts, Denver, Colorado to look into the court costs for $56.00 and also
<br />include indigent and related costs. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie,
<br />Long, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried.

<br />Discussed-the Veterans Service letter in regard to appointment of member to
<br />the Veterans Service Board with recommendation of three names.
<br />Motion by Quandt, seconded by Long to have Board Assistant to set up
<br />times and date for interviews of the three candidates. Abernethy, Hartman,
<br />Landis, Leslie, Long, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion
<br />carried.

<br />Insurance Committee had met at 1:15 p.m., have recommendation of Regional
<br />Insurance Management, Salt Lake City,Utah and Mid American Insurance, Omaha
<br />Nebraska.
