Requested Hall County to sign agreement which has already been <br />signed by Howard County. Shuda stated would ne~d no ~dditional ~taff to <br />provide services. Leslie questioned Don Shuda llsted lnstead of Just the <br />Hall County Veterans Service Officer in the agreement. <br />Motion by Landis, seconded by Leslie to accept the agreement with Howard <br />County for a joint Veterans Service Officer, and authorized Chairman to sign <br />the agreement. Abernethy, Landis, Leslie, Quandt, and Stelk voted yes, <br />none voted no, with Hartman absent. Motion carried. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS HELD FOR DISCUSSION: <br />#2 Letter from Congressman Bill Barrett in regard to the Older Americans <br />Act. <br /> <br />#3 Letter from Department of the Army, Thomas L. Jamieson,Commander's <br />Representative in regard to the request from Southern Nebraska Public <br />Power District request for Hall County Building Inspection Department <br />to inspect the new electrical installations at the Cornhusker AAP. <br />Determined;toi request Deputy Attorney Janulewicz to draft a formal <br />reply to the Department of Army. <br /> <br />#9 Seminar, June 13, 1996 at Cornhusker Hotel, Lincoln, Nebraska in <br />regard to 1996 Property taxes, school finance and the start-up of <br />the new Tax Equalization and Review Commission. <br /> <br />#lli Notice of Business and Community Development in the Information Age <br />to be held Thursday Evening, June 13, 1996 at College Park, Grand <br />Island starting at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Supervisor Quandt questioned the letter from Department of the Army in regard <br />to the meeting on June 5, 1996 at 7:00 p.m. at Grand Island City Hall on the <br />relocating the discharge of treated water from the Platte River to Silver <br />Creek on Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant. Asked if anyone from County Board <br />pians'to<attend the meeting. <br /> <br />COUNTY BOARD ASSISTANT REPORT: Ellen Merrill, had presented weekly update <br />report in packets. Reminder to return the annual evaluation form as soon as <br />possible. Hall County Housing Authority asked which Tuesday Board Members <br />could attend lunch for annual:Housing Authority report. (Board Members <br />suggested June 18th or 25th at 12:15 p.m). Will provide copies of the <br />Mid Plains Center for Children's Village contract for next meeting and will <br />need to work on a new agreement. <br /> <br />COUNTY BOARD MEMBER REPORTS: <br />Quandt - none <br /> <br />Landis meeting tomorrow evening on CAAP, and will try to set up meeting <br />of Public'Works Committee on the request of water problems at the <br />Airport. Motor Vehicle Customer Service Committee meeting and <br />stated we recommended extended hours but was left up to the elected <br />: officials what they chose to do. <br />
