The County Board established a minimum participation of 5% of total <br />employees. At present time we have 6 employees enrolled in the cancer program <br />and 5% would be 12 employees, in addition have had numerous problems with the <br />monthly billings from Occidental and no representative has been in contact. <br />According to the County Board motion this company does not qualify for pay- <br />roll deduction <br />Motion by Quandt, seconded by Hartman to notify Occidental Insurance that <br />they do not meet the requirements and to be corrected in 30 days or will be <br />dropped from Hall County payroll deduction. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, <br />Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS: Discussion on those requested be held. <br />#2 State Tax Equalization and Review Commissioner regarding appeal hearings <br />and requested if any rooms were available for these hearings and also to <br />hire a person to run tape recorder system. Motion by Landis, seconded <br />by Abernethy to offer the County Board Meeting Room or the Committee <br />meeting room next door for the property tax appeal hearings. Abernethy, <br />Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion <br />carried. <br />#3 Senator Bob'~erry letter regarding the Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant <br />and the Wo5d River/Warm Slough flood control project. Supervisor Landis <br />spoke briefly in regard to the letter. <br /> <br />#9 Patricia Florom, regarding Child Support Issues meeting. Chair Stelk <br />spoke in regard to the meeting, to use Hall',County Board Room, for issues <br />on delinquent child support, Wednesday, May 29, 1996 at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />#14 Buffalo County School Superintendent regarding a survey concerning <br />merging of offices. Determined the Chairman to answer questionaire and <br />return. <br /> <br />#15 Central Nebraska Community Services Resource Development Director Amy <br />Welty requesting a le~ter of support for supporting housing program <br />grant. (Board Assistant had included sample letter in packets for <br />County Board membeFs consideration) <br /> <br />#16 state Civil Defense Training Manager to Communications/Emergency Manage- <br />ment Director Howard Maxon regardingfhelntegrated Emergency Management <br />Course. (Chairman to visit with Maxon about the course) <br /> <br />Chairman Stelk asked about letter from City of Grand Island Public Works <br />Director in regard to the South Locust/I-80 Planning and Coodination Meeting <br />scheduled for Thursday, June 6, 1996 at 10:00 a.m. in City Attorney's Confer- <br />ence Room, City Hall. Discussion on who would be attending the meeting. <br />County Public Works Director had sent notice to Dr. Leslie and Gary Quandt. <br />Motion by Landis, seconded by Quandt to have Supervisor Leslie and Quandt <br />attend the South Locust/I-80 Planning and Coordination Meeting. Abernethy, <br />Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />Chairman Stelk asked about the letter from State of Nebraska Department of <br />Roads Director Allan Abbott to Public Works Director/Surveyor in regard to <br />project No. S-34-4(1019) Bosselman's Drive, Control Number 41906 Traffic <br />signal. Directed Hostler to respond to the letter that the County does <br />not plan to pay for the light at this location. <br /> <br />COUNTY BOARD ASSISTANT REPORT: Ellen Merrill gave weekly progress report. <br />Presented letter expressing support for Central Nebraska Community Services <br />Resource Development for supporting housing program grant for Board members <br />to sign. <br /> <br />ACCEPT COMMUNICATIONS HELD: Motion by Abernethy, seconded by Leslie to <br />accept the communications held and discussed. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, <br />Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />COUNTY BOARD MEMBER REPORTS: <br /> <br />Abernethy - Attended Criminal Justice Committee meeting, the new committee <br />meeting for hiring of correction employees and attended the Regional III <br />Governing Board Meeting for Leslie. <br /> <br />~ <br />
