9:15 a.m. Held a Board of Equalization Meeting. <br /> 9:20 a.m. adjourned the Board of Equalization meeting and returned to the regular meeting. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION - Chairman Lancaster called for public participation. Clay Schutz 117 <br /> E. 15t Street, Grand Island, Nebraska from the Stat� Prabation office distributed information to <br /> the county board members in reference to new staff requirements per L6561 Buffalo and Hall <br /> County will be increasing staff in both counties. Seven officers, three supervisors and three <br /> suppart staff members for a total of a possible 13 new employees between the two counties is <br /> the projected increase of employees with the first of the hiring to begin in July. He will be <br /> interviewing for various levels of probation supervision as well as clerical. The second round <br /> will add five more employees. There is a strong possibility that when it is all compl�ted Grand <br /> Island will have increased the number of employees between six and seven employees. <br /> Quandt inquired as to where the funds will be coming from for building and operational cost. <br /> Quandt noted that the county currently does nat have the space or the money for said <br /> expenses. Arnold asked how many of these positions currently exist in HHS. He wanted to <br /> know how many of these responsibilities would be transfer duties. Arnald questioned why the <br /> state is shifting the cost to the counties. Ziola asked Mr. Schutz what space does the county <br /> need to provide for his staff. Mr. Schutz stated that office privacy will be a major necessity due <br /> to confidentially. The reason that he had asked to speak to the baard is that he wanted them to <br /> be aware of action of this bill and what may eventually be required for operational cost. <br /> Chairman Lancaster closed the public participation and the supervisors returned to the regular <br /> meeting. <br /> Patricia Wagner of Central City, Nebraska who serves as Director of Clean Community <br /> Systems, was introduced to the board by Supervisor Purdy. She told the board that she has a <br /> background in law enforcement where she worked as a dispatcher for 36 years. She presented <br /> a report to the board showing the number of persons who have used the facilities of the CCS <br /> since January af this year. <br /> Purdy presented Pat with a letter of support for the CCS from the Hall Caunty Board of <br /> Supervisors. <br /> 9:40 a.m. Held Board of Corrections Meeting <br /> 10:45 a.m. adjaurned the Board of Corrections meeting and returned ta the regular meeting. <br /> # 6 Public Warks — Mr. Sherlock asked the board for their approval and authorization for the <br /> Chairman to sign item 6A) Consideration of a resolution # 13-035 approving supplemental <br /> agreement#2 to the interlocal agreement with the Nebraska Department of Roads and the City <br /> of Wood River regarding relinquishment of portions of NE Highway 11 to the city and county as <br /> a result of the relocation of NE Hwy 11 with the construction of the viaduct of the Union Pacific <br /> Railroad tracks. Supervisor Schuppan made the motion to approve the resolution and authorize <br /> the Chairman to sign said resolution. Quandt seconded the motion. All voted yes, none voted <br /> no.
