His request was for $6000.00 for new airport improvements and he explained the request. RESOLUTION DELEGATING AUTHORITY TO ~EMPORARILYCLOSE OR PLACE VEHICLE WEIGHT LIMITATIONS ON COUNTY ROADS: Motion by Quandt, seconded by Rosenkotter to approve Resolution #96-0017 w~th Deputy Attorney Janu1e~~cz to aa~. Assistant Public Works Director ln the absence of the PUb11C Works Dlrector. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt, Rosenkotter and Ste1k voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. RESOLUTION # 9&- ()o/7 A RESOLUTION DELEGATING AUTHORITY TO TEMPORARILY CWSE OR PLACE VEIDCLE WEIGHT LIMITATIONS ON COUNTY ROADS WHEREAS, the County of Hall is responsible for the maintenance and repair of county roads within Hall County; and WHEREAS, Neb.Rev.Stat. sec. 39-1801 grants to county boards the authority to temporarily close county roads when justified by necessity in order to provide for the public safety, and to place limitations on the weight of vehicles using county roads when necessary for reasonable periods where the subgrade or pavement of such roads is weak or materially weakened by climatic conditions; and WHEREAS, Neb.Rev.Stat. sec. 39-1801 furtherpennits county boards to delegate the above authority within the respective counties; and WHEREAS, the Hall County Public Works Director and the Assistant County Public Works Director have appropriate education, training, and experience to entrust with and delegate to the authority to temporarily close county roads or to place load limit restrictions thereon as set forth herein. NOW BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HALL COUNlY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS that the Hall County Public Works Director and, in the absence of the County Public Works Director, the Assistant County Public Works Director be and hereby are authorized to temporarily close and suspend travel over any county road within the county whenever any such road or part thereof is impassable or unusually dangerous to travel, whenever it becomes necessary because of constmction or maintenance work to suspend all or part of the travel on any such road, or whenever justified by necessity in order to provide for the public safety, or the weight limitations of wheel and axle loads as provided by statute may be restricted to the extent deemed necessary for a reasonable period where the subgrade or pavement of any such road is weak or materially weakened by climatic conditions. Whenever any such road is closed, travel suspended, or weight limitations of wheel and axle load are imposed, the such action shall be reported to the Hall County Board of Supervisors within a reasonable time thereafter. The action of the Public Works Director or Assistant Public Works Director may be reversed, modified, or suspended by affirmative vote of the Hall County Board of Supervisors. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the of the Hall County Board of Supervisors, the Hall County Public Works Director, and the Assistant County Public Works Director shall comply . .
