<br />f"F ~ ora <br /> <br />GENE KRAMER--CLEAN COMMUNITY SYSTEM MEMBERSHIP PLAQUE <br />PRESENTATION AND 1995 RURAL ROADSIDE CLEANUP REPORT: Kramer <br />presented a membership plaque to Stelk. She read it and passed <br />it around to the other board members. Kramer distributed <br />statistics and discussed the program. He said the state funding <br />has been cut in half for 1996. Kramer thanked the board for its <br />support and said he'll be back for additional support next year. <br />He answered questions from the board members. The issue was <br />discussed. In response to a question, Kramer said he'll provide <br />the board with the weight sheets on garbage trucks which use <br />Husker Highway. He said the landfill cost $4.5 million. <br /> <br />s <br /> <br />WEED CONTROL SECRETARY POSITION: Weed Board President Jack <br />Niemoth said the board met last night and had quite a bit of <br />discussion regarding this matter. Niemoth said Superintendent <br />Ray Galindo did extensive research of other weed controls. He <br />said the weed board moved to keep the assistant and the secretary <br />full time because of workload and what other counties do. The <br />issue was discussed. Hartman moved and Rosenkotter seconded the <br />motion to leave things as is. The issue was discussed. Landis <br />moved and Rosenkotter seconded the motion to call for the <br />question. Landis, Hartman, Stelk, Leslie, Abernethy, and <br />Rosenkotter voted yes, and Quandt voted no. Motion carried. RECEIVE BIDS ON FUEL <br />HANDLING SYSTEM FOR GRAND ISLAND AND DONIPHAN SHOPS; 2. ACCEPT <br />PROPOSAL FROM ROCKWELL AND ASSOCIATES ON FIVE (5) ROAD PROJECTS: <br />The first recommendation stated, "The Public Works Committee <br />recommends that the Hall County Board of Supervisors accept bids <br />on Tuesday, April 2, 1996 at 10:00 a.m. for a fuel handling <br />system to be installed at the Grand Island and Doniphan Shops." <br />The second recommendation stated, "The Public Works Committee <br />recommends that the Hall County Board of Supervisors accept the <br />Engineering Proposal from Rockwell & Associates in the amount of <br />$49,500 for Hall County Projects C40(254), (259), (276), (277) <br />and (283)." Both recommendations were signed by committee <br />members Hartman, Landis, and Rosenkotter. Hartman moved and <br />Landis seconded the motion to approve both recommendations. <br />Quandt, Landis, Hartman, Stelk, Leslie, Abernethy, and <br />Rosenkotter voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION REGARDING ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS IN THE COURTHOUSE: <br />Rosenkotter moved and Abernethy seconded the motion to approve <br />the recommendation. The issue was discussed. Landis asked that <br />estimates of cost for an electrical contractor be obtained. The <br />issue was discussed. Quandt, Landis, Hartman, Stelk, Leslie, <br />Abernethy, and Rosenkotter voted yes and none voted no. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />SET PUBLIC HEARING DATE AND TIME FOR MID-NEBRASKA SPEEDWAY, <br />INCORPORATED'S CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT REQUEST: Hartman moved and <br />Leslie seconded the motion to hold this public hearing at 10:00 <br />a.m. on March 26, 1996. The issue was discussed. Landis said <br />this is not a renewal but a new permit since concerts have been <br />added as a permitted use. She scheduled a Conditional Use Permit <br />
