46 DISCUSS AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN HIDTA CONTRACT-This is the grant that represents the funding for Deputy County Attorney Matt Molsen. Mr. Molsen prosecutes the federal drug cases and they receive federal funds for th�e services. The grant application needs to be signed. Ziola made a motion and Schuppan seconded to authorize the Chair to sign the HIDTA grant application. Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Arnold was absent. Motion carried. Discussion was held on the installation af the gate. Mr. Schuppan stated that he has attempted to get 3 quotes on the gate. This issue was included as part of the agreement. He also stated that Mr. Sherlock will need to contact the power company for electrical service for the gate. Mr. Zitterkopf stated this was authorized by the execution of the agreement. Mr. Schuppan stated he wanted to keep the board members informed. 17. APPROVE BI WEEKLY PAY CLAIMS 17B APPRQVE EARLY CLAIM FOR DIESEL FUEL TAX IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,244.00— Quandt made a motion and Schuppan seconded to approve the bi weekly pay claims and the early claim far the diesel fuel tax. Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Arnold was absent. Motion carried. BOARD ASSISTANT'S REPORT— Board assistant Stacy Ruzicka reminded the board members of the union negotiations meeting after the board meeting and there is also the quarterly jail tour. COMMITTEE OR BOARD MEMBER'S REPORTS— Mr. Quandt stated he attended the Weed Control Authority Board meeting and they voted to increase the contract with Howard County by $1,Oa0.00. He also noted the collection of the franchise fees from Charter. Mr. Lancaster stated that the Convention Visitors' Bureau corporate board met and is interested in transferring the duties to the County Baard. They oversee the money and the �xpenditures and this does require more oversight from the county. Mr. Purdy stated that he and Mr. Ziola attended the Midland Area Agency on Aging meeting and they will be requesting funding and it will be the same as last year. They have lost some federal revenue but they will be receiving 2 '/z% more from the state. He also attended the Emerg�ncy Management meeting and Mr. Rosenlund will be caming to the county for a presentation. Ms. Lancaster thanked building and grounds for their work on the veteran's service office and thanked Mr. Quandt far all of the wark he has done, he is doing the painting now. 9:30 a.m. Held a Board of Corrections meeting. The Board of Corrections meeting was adjourned at 9:54 a.m. returned to the regular meeting. Discussion was held an the jail tour during the Board of Correctians meeting and it will be rescheduled for May. 6. 10:00 A.M.
