46 DISCUSS AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN HIDTA CONTRACT-This is the grant that <br /> represents the funding for Deputy County Attorney Matt Molsen. Mr. Molsen prosecutes the <br /> federal drug cases and they receive federal funds for th�e services. The grant application needs <br /> to be signed. <br /> Ziola made a motion and Schuppan seconded to authorize the Chair to sign the HIDTA grant <br /> application. Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted <br /> yes and none voted no. Arnold was absent. Motion carried. <br /> Discussion was held on the installation af the gate. Mr. Schuppan stated that he has attempted <br /> to get 3 quotes on the gate. This issue was included as part of the agreement. He also stated <br /> that Mr. Sherlock will need to contact the power company for electrical service for the gate. Mr. <br /> Zitterkopf stated this was authorized by the execution of the agreement. Mr. Schuppan stated <br /> he wanted to keep the board members informed. <br /> 17. APPROVE BI WEEKLY PAY CLAIMS <br /> 17B APPRQVE EARLY CLAIM FOR DIESEL FUEL TAX IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,244.00— <br /> Quandt made a motion and Schuppan seconded to approve the bi weekly pay claims and the <br /> early claim far the diesel fuel tax. Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all <br /> voted yes and none voted no. Arnold was absent. Motion carried. <br /> BOARD ASSISTANT'S REPORT— Board assistant Stacy Ruzicka reminded the board <br /> members of the union negotiations meeting after the board meeting and there is also the <br /> quarterly jail tour. <br /> COMMITTEE OR BOARD MEMBER'S REPORTS— Mr. Quandt stated he attended the Weed <br /> Control Authority Board meeting and they voted to increase the contract with Howard County by <br /> $1,Oa0.00. He also noted the collection of the franchise fees from Charter. <br /> Mr. Lancaster stated that the Convention Visitors' Bureau corporate board met and is interested <br /> in transferring the duties to the County Baard. They oversee the money and the �xpenditures <br /> and this does require more oversight from the county. <br /> Mr. Purdy stated that he and Mr. Ziola attended the Midland Area Agency on Aging meeting and <br /> they will be requesting funding and it will be the same as last year. They have lost some federal <br /> revenue but they will be receiving 2 '/z% more from the state. He also attended the Emerg�ncy <br /> Management meeting and Mr. Rosenlund will be caming to the county for a presentation. <br /> Ms. Lancaster thanked building and grounds for their work on the veteran's service office and <br /> thanked Mr. Quandt far all of the wark he has done, he is doing the painting now. <br /> 9:30 a.m. Held a Board of Corrections meeting. <br /> The Board of Corrections meeting was adjourned at 9:54 a.m. returned to the regular meeting. <br /> Discussion was held an the jail tour during the Board of Correctians meeting and it will be <br /> rescheduled for May. <br /> 6. 10:00 A.M. PUBLIC HEARING FOR PLATT� VALLEY COMMUNICATIONS FOR A <br /> CONDITIQNAL USE PERMIT FOR A TOWER—Quandt made a motion and Ziola seconded to <br /> open the public hearing. Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted <br /> 3 <br />
