<br />-. , <br /> <br />tJ 1 r:: ~ r-1- <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #97- on to <6 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION REQUESTING COMMENCEMENT OF PRELIMINARY <br />DISCUSSIONS REGARDING TRANSFER OF THE CORNHUSKER ARMY <br />AMMUNITION PLANT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, RKG Associates, Inc., is assisting the community to develop a reuse plan for <br />the Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, special legislation authorizes the Secretary of the Army to convey CAAP at <br />fair market value; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Base Realignment and Closure legislation (BRAC) authorizes the transfer <br />of closed military bases and installations at less than fair market value for purposes such as rural <br />economic development and education; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Hall County Board of Supervisors and the Cornhusker Army <br />Ammunition Plant Reuse Committee believe that it is in the best interests of the community to <br />explore whether transfer alternatives exist which would allow parts or all of the CAAP property <br />to be transferred by the federal government for less than fair market value consideration. <br /> <br />WHEREFORE, it is respectfully requested that the Department of the Army and <br />representatives of Nebraska' s Congressional Delegation engage in preliminary discussions <br />regarding property transfer alternatives for CAAP. <br /> <br />Passed and approved this JL/i-\Jay of October, 1997. <br /> <br />HALL COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS <br /> <br />d/J~T <br /> <br />H.
