<br />11 {o~! ~OARD <br /> <br />included her <br /> <br />SECRETARY REPORT: Lisa Hagen, board secretary, <br />progress report in the board members packets. <br /> <br />BOARD MEMBER REPORTS: <br /> <br />Abernethy - She attended a tour at Stuhr Museum of the collection <br />building and volunteered with a Triad Group observing the number <br />of people who use their seat belts. <br /> <br />Stelk - She attended the Heartland Vision meeting and they are <br />working on a town hall meeting for September 1. She attended the <br />Convention and Visitor Bureau and they are working on their <br />budget. The receipts are down and so they are trying to make <br />projections for the budget. She will attend a meeting on the <br />Public Safety Center. <br /> <br />Landis - She attended the City Council meeting and the audit <br />committee meeting. She stated that a consultant will be hired by <br />July 5, 1997 for the CAAP. <br /> <br />Lancaster - She toured the jail last week and thanked the cooks <br />for the lunch and cookies. The building and grounds department <br />informed the board of an expensive boiler replacement and the <br />roof repairs that will soon be needed and she was concerned about <br />the costs. She also stated that Andy Baird with the Economic <br />Development board was on top of the prison issue. <br /> <br />Long - He was also concerned about the boiler replacements and <br />the roof repairs. He attended the CNCS meeting in Loup City and <br />also toured Stuhr Museum collections building. A question-was <br />raised if it wouldn't be possible to extend the hours at Stuhr <br />Museum. <br /> <br />Quandt - He attended the Head Start meeting and the Midland Area <br />Agency on Aging meeting Thursday. <br /> <br />NEW OR UNFINISHED BUSINESS: The lunch with the Housing Authority <br />will be scheduled for July 22 at 12:15 p.m. <br /> <br />Quandt requested that a letter be sent to Senator Chris Peterson <br />thanking her for her information on the prison facility. <br /> <br />Recess 12:08 p.m. <br /> <br />Returned to session at 1:30 p.m. <br /> <br />COMMENCE AUDIT OF MONTHLY CLAIMS: Stelk made a motion and <br />Lancaster seconded to pay all June claims but to deny the claim <br />from James Fosket for $28,000.00 and the claim for the <br />overpaYment to the Keno fund. Stelk amended her motion and <br />Lancaster seconded to hold the claim from Sam Grimminger for <br />$1,270.75 for clarification. Stelk stated she was upset with the <br />amount of money that was spent in June. Abernethy, Lancaster, <br />Landis, Long and Stelk all voted yes and Quandt voted no with <br />Hartman absent. Motion carried. <br /> <br />TAX CORRECTION NOTICES: Landis made a motion and Abernethy <br />seconded to authorize the Chair to sign Tax Correction Notices <br />#1634 to #1664. Abernethy, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and <br />Stelk all voted yes and none voted no with Hartman absent. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Landis reminded the board that the safety inspections will be <br />done on July 1 and 2. The report will be sent to the Safety <br />Committee first and then to the County Board.
