<br />97; /1/ <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />PUBLIC PARTICIPATION: Gordon Jensen, requested to speak to the board. <br />He mows the Grand Island East Cemetary and stated he had received a <br />request for a burial in the cemetary. The last burial was in 1981. <br />Mr. Jensen was told to contact Jerry Janulewicz concerning this matter. <br /> <br />ROGER CLARK AFLAC,CAFETERIA PL~N: Roger Clark, with Aflac, spoke to <br />~he board concern1ng a cafeter1a plan for the premiums for cancer <br />1nsurance. The cancer premiums are alreadya payroll deduction and <br />there woul~ be no charge to Hall County for this. This would provide <br />a FICA sav1ngs for Hall County. Hartman made a motion and Landis <br />seconded to establish a cafeteria plan with AFLAC. Abernthy, Hartman, <br />Lan~aster, ~andis, Quandtand Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. <br />Mot1on carr1ed. The Board will need to approve a resolution for this. <br /> <br />12:05 P.M. Returned to regular session <br /> <br />APPROVE PROPOSAL REQUEST FOR COMPUTER EQUIPMENT FOR CRIMINAL JUSTICE <br />SYSTEM AND ELECTION COMMISSIONER AND SET DATE AND TIME FOR BID OPENING: <br />Jerry Janulewicz, Dave Arnold, Joel Dalton and the computer committee <br />worked on the specifications and recommended the date of June 10, 1997, <br />at 10:00 a.m. for the bid opening. Lancaster made a motion and Landis <br />seconded to accept the bid specifications and set the date for June 10, <br />1997, at 10:00 a.m. Abernethy, Lancaster, Landis, Quandt and Stelk <br />all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. Hartman was absent <br />for the afternoon session. <br /> <br />1:35 P.M. Chairman Long was present for afternoon session. <br /> <br />11:38 p.m. Chair called Board of Equalization meeting to order. <br /> <br />1:50 p.m. Stelk made a motion and Quandt seconded to go out of the, <br />Board of Equalization meeting. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Land1s, <br />Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried <br /> <br />APPROVE RENEWAL APPLICATION FOR AMUSEMENT LICENSE FOR THE HALL COUNTY <br />AG SOCIETY: Quandt made a motion and Stelk seconded to approve the <br />Amusement license renewal application for the Hall County Ag Society. <br />Abernethy,'Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes <br />and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />APPOINTMENT FOR HALL COUNTY HOUSING AUTHORITY: The Housing Authority <br />Board recommended Ms. Karen Reese to replace Commissioner Gartner and <br />Mr. Tom Grooms to serve the remainder of the unexpired term of <br />Commissioner Bremer. Stelk made a motion and Landis seconded to approve <br />the appointment of Ms. Karen Reese and Mr. Tom Grooms to the Housing <br />Authority Board. Abernethy, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk <br />all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />COUNTY BOARD SECRETARY REPORT: Lisa Hagen included her progress report <br />in the packets and requested to participate in the Jail & Bail for the <br />March of Dimes. The Board authorized her request. <br /> <br />BOARD MEMBER REPORTS: <br /> <br />Quandt - None <br /> <br />Abernethy - She attended the Panel with State Treasurer and Dan Lynch <br />on senior citizens, the audit committee meeting, breakfast with the <br />travel council and the memorial service at the public safty center. <br /> <br />Long - He attended the Veterans Service Committee meeting, the <br />Convention and Visitors Bureau meeting at Stuhr Museum, audit committee <br />meeting and the work study session for the sheriff. <br /> <br />Lancaster - She attended the computer committee meeting, audit committee <br />meeting, Public Safty Center memorial service and complimented the <br />color guard. She attended the Coalition for Justice Conferance in <br />Lincoln and reported on the agenda. They worked in three groups, <br />civil, criminal and juvenile justice and established goals and <br />discussed the importance of early intervention agencies such as DARE <br />and CASA. She also attended the work-study session. <br /> <br />Landis - She attended the computer committee, audit committee and <br />work study session. <br /> <br />3 <br />
