<br />~7~- "Jr~HALL COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING APRIL 15, 1997 <br /> <br />The Hall County Board of Supervisors met at 9:00 a.m. from <br />adjourned session and by published call in the Countybbard <br />meeting room, 121 South Pine, Grand Island, Nebraska. <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by Chairman <br />Huey Long. <br /> <br />INVOCATION: Invocation was given by H. Allen Runyon, Grand <br />Island Family Church. <br /> <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: The Pledge of Allegiance was given in <br />unison. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL: Present on roll call were Irene Abernethy, Richard <br />Hartman, Pamela Lancaster, Huey Long, Gary Quandt and Tammie <br />Stelk. <br /> <br />PRESENT were Deputy County Attorney Jerry Janulewicz, news media <br />representatives from Grand Island Independent, KRGI, KHOL TV <br />10/11 and KHAS TV 5. <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE APRIL 8 MEETING: Quandt made <br />seconded to accept the minutes as received. <br />Lancaster, Long, Quandt and stelk all voted <br />no. Motion carried. Landis absent. <br /> <br />a motion and Stelk <br />Abernethy, Hartman, <br />yes and none voted <br /> <br />COUNTY ATTORNEY: Deputy County Attorney Jerry Janulewicz was <br />present and did not have any items on the agenda. <br /> <br />RESCIND MOTION ADOPTED DECEMBER 13, 1994: Stelk made a motion <br />and Abernethy seconded to rescind the motion adopted December <br />13, 1994, to submit the South Locust Street interchange project <br />to vote of the county electorate. Stelk commented on the costs <br />involved for an election and the progress that has already been <br />made. Hartman and Quandt supported putting the issue to a vote <br />of the people. Stelk called for the question. Landis arrived <br />at 9:15 a.m. Abernethy, Lancaster, Landis, Long and Stelk all <br />voted yes Hartman and Quandt voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />COUNTY SHERIFF FOSKET RESIGNATION: The letter from <br />James Fosket, Hall County Sheriff, was read stating that he <br />resigned from office effective immediatly. Quandt made a motion <br />and Stelk seconded to accept the resignation. Abernethy, <br />Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted <br />yes and none voted no. Motion carried. Quandt stated he felt <br />Fosket was a good sheriff and did a lot for the community. <br />Hartman said it was a sad day and Fosket had helped the rural <br />areas with law enforcement. Landis commented on Fosket's ability <br />to hold down his budget. Abernethy wished him success and hoped <br />the department would work together. Stelk said Mr. Fosket worked <br />hard for his department acquiring needed equipment and vehicles. <br /> <br />Lancaster stated this was unfortunate for Mr. Fosket and for <br />Hall County. <br /> <br />ACCEPT PROPOSALS FOR ENGINEERING FROM ROCKWELL BEER: The <br />following committee report was read <br /> <br />PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE REPORT <br /> <br />The Hall County Public Works Committee recommends that the Hall County Board of <br />Supervisors accept and sign the engineering agreements for the following: <br /> <br />Rockwell & Associates <br /> <br />Projects: Asphalt - One-R Rd, 90th Rd, Capital Avenue <br />$6,050 <br />Projects: Box Culverts C40(94)-2, C40(255), <br />(256), (257), (264), (273) and (275) $13,600 <br /> <br />Rockwell & Associates <br /> <br />w~ <br /> <br />Daniel J.
