Hartman made a motion and <br />Stelk seconded to accept the settlement and place on file. Abernethy, <br />Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandtand Stlek all voted yes <br />and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION ON LB 179 AND 223: Doris Mason, Hall County Treasurer, <br />spoke to the board on LB 179 and 223. County treasurers are <br />concerned about the financial impact these two bills will have on <br />counties. These bills would eliminate the tax collection fees. <br />She requested that the board write a letter opposing these two bills. <br />Doris will type the letter and return so the board can sign it. <br /> <br />COUNTY ASSESSOR TAX CORRECTION NOTICES: Jan Pelland, County Assessor, <br />presented tax correction notices #1506 to #1530 for the previous <br />Board Chair Tammie Stelk to initial. She presented tax correction <br />notices #1531 to #1549 for the present Board Chair Huey Long to <br />sign. Quandt made a motion and Abernethy seconded to authorize the <br />present and past chairs to initial the tax correction notices. <br />Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all <br />voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />PRISON FACILITY AT CAAP: Quandt stated that he had received calls <br />opposing the prison facility and only two in support of the facility. <br />He felt the County Board should commit or oppose the placement of the <br />the facility. Quandtmade a motion and Hartman seconded to send <br />a letter in opposition of the facility. Discussion was held. <br />Hartman called for the vote. Hartman, Landis and Quandt voted yes. <br />Lancaster abstained. Abernethy, Long and Stelk voted no. Motion <br />did not carry. Landis stated that this will be disucssed on <br />Wednesday at the Reuse meeting. <br /> <br />COUNTY TREASURER'S MISCELLANEOUS RECEIPTS AND OFFICE REPORTS: Stelk <br />made a motion and Abernethy seconded to accept and place on file by <br />consent agenda the County Treasurer's Miscellaneous Receipts and <br />office reports. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt <br />and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS: Stelk made a motion and Abernethy seconded to <br />accept communications and place on file. Abernethy, Hartman, <br />Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none <br />voted no. Motion carried. <br />
