Cf~F-C)C65lo COUNTY BOARD SECRETARY REPORT: Carol Spiehs asked if some of the old insurance policies could be destroyed. Lancaster made a motion and Landis seconded to destroy the old policies. Lancaster amended her motion and Landis seconded to contact the NIRMA insurance office to clarify which policies could be destroyed. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. UPDATE FROM SHERIFF PERKINS: Sheriff Perkins stated that his department is below budget and they have started meetings to insure an easy transition in January. He has expressed concern on the increased number of expired car insurance and no valid drivers licenses for drivers especially the accident that involved the sheriff's car. BOARD MEMBER'S REPORTS: Quandt - no report Long - He attended CNCS in Loup City, the county employee recognition picnic and a railroad meeting at Stuhr Museum. stelk - She attended two computer meetings two union meetings and will have a health board meeting tonight. Landis - She attended the ADA meeting, two weed board meetings, two computer meetings and will be doing interviews for the corrections department. Hartman - He attended many of the same meetings. Lancaster - She attended the industrial development meeting and stated that Hall County has an important role in development with the development of paved roads. She attended the public defenders negotiations meeting and the Health and Human Services committee that is working on integrated services for clients. She also attended the computer committee meetings and she also attended the amusement license committee and Jerry Janulewicz is working on rules and regulations. Hartman reported that board assistant Lisa Hagen will not be coming back and that Carol Spiehs will work part-time until the first of the year. After that the board will advertise the position. Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded to appoint Carol Spiehs to work part-time as the board assistant. Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes with Abernethy absent for the vote. Motion carried. at 3:00 p.m. The next meeting will be October 27, at REMI Channe 8:00 a.m.
