9%P~;Z ~c; JAIL PRESENTATION: Paul Crozier with Correctional Services Corporation from Florida gave a slide presentation and hand-out information to the board members. This explained his company and the privatization of jail facilities. He stated that he would like to come back in the future to answer any questions on this issue if Hall County considers building a new jail facility. Mr. Crozier stated that he viewed the proposed site at the Hall County Airport. They use a ground lease agreement with a host fee in lieu of taxes and the county pays per diem per person. The board thanked him for the presentation. Recessed at 11:55 for lunch. Returned to session 1:30 p.m. SAFETY COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: The following safety committee recommendation was read: SAFETY COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION The Hall County Safety Committee would like to recommend that the Hall County Board of Supervisors look into random drug testing of present employees and testing of all new employees. The safety committee wants to ensure a safe and healthy work place. Signed by Ed Saeger, Gary Quandt and Irene Abernethy. Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded to go into executive session. Quandt requested that this matter be an executive session. He stated that the executive session was necessary to protect employees. Tracy Overstreet objected to the executive session. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Long and Quandt voted yes and Stelk voted no. Landis was absent. Motion carried. 1:45 p.m. executive session 1:55 p.m. Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded to go out of executive session. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Landis was absent. Motion carried. The board members requested information from other counties on this matter and it will be discussed later. AUDIT ON MONTHLY CLAIMS AND ACTION ON CLAIM AUDIT: The monthly claim audit was held. Stelk made a motion and Lancaster seconded to approve all claims except to disallow #98080236 to Internal Medical Associates, Grand Island, for $121.00 that is over 90 days old. To hold claims number 98080257 to Livingston- Sondermann Funeral Home, #98080473 to Apfel Butler Geddes Funeral Home and #98080487 to Kleine Funeral Home for clarification. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Landis was absent. Motion carried. The interviews for the weed control superintendent will be held on September 10 starting at 5:00 p.m.
