<br />9%P~;Z ~c; <br /> <br />JAIL PRESENTATION: Paul Crozier with Correctional Services <br />Corporation from Florida gave a slide presentation and hand-out <br />information to the board members. This explained his company and <br /> <br />the privatization of jail facilities. He stated that he would <br />like to come back in the future to answer any questions on this <br />issue if Hall County considers building a new jail facility. <br />Mr. Crozier stated that he viewed the proposed site at the Hall <br />County Airport. They use a ground lease agreement with a host <br />fee in lieu of taxes and the county pays per diem per person. <br />The board thanked him for the presentation. <br /> <br />Recessed at 11:55 for lunch. <br /> <br />Returned to session 1:30 p.m. <br /> <br />SAFETY COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: The following safety committee <br />recommendation was read: <br />SAFETY COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />The Hall County Safety Committee would like to recommend that the <br />Hall County Board of Supervisors look into random drug testing of <br />present employees and testing of all new employees. The safety <br />committee wants to ensure a safe and healthy work place. Signed <br />by Ed Saeger, Gary Quandt and Irene Abernethy. <br /> <br />Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded to go into executive <br />session. Quandt requested that this matter be an executive <br />session. He stated that the executive session was necessary to <br />protect employees. Tracy Overstreet objected to the executive <br />session. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Long and Quandt voted yes <br />and Stelk voted no. Landis was absent. Motion carried. <br /> <br />1:45 p.m. executive session <br /> <br />1:55 p.m. Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded to go out <br />of executive session. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Long, <br />Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Landis was <br />absent. Motion carried. The board members requested information <br />from other counties on this matter and it will be discussed <br />later. <br /> <br />AUDIT ON MONTHLY CLAIMS AND ACTION ON CLAIM AUDIT: The monthly <br />claim audit was held. Stelk made a motion and Lancaster seconded <br />to approve all claims except to disallow #98080236 to Internal <br />Medical Associates, Grand Island, for $121.00 that is over 90 <br />days old. To hold claims number 98080257 to Livingston- <br />Sondermann Funeral Home, #98080473 to Apfel Butler Geddes Funeral <br />Home and #98080487 to Kleine Funeral Home for clarification. <br />Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted <br />yes and none voted no. Landis was absent. Motion carried. <br />The interviews for the weed control superintendent will be held <br />on September 10 starting at 5:00 p.m. <br />
