<br />9 g-FO/3 ? <br /> <br />The claim for Computer Concepts for the purchase of new monitors <br />for the Veterans Service Office was also held. Lancaster stated <br />that she questioned if this could be resolved in another manne4 <br />and a letter from Mr. Shuda was sent to the board stating that <br />the only way to solve the problem was to purchase the larger <br />monitors. Lancaster made a motion a nd Stelk seconded to pay the <br />claim from Computer concepts for $2,649.60. from miscellaneous <br />general line item 2-9900. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, <br />Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. <br />Motion carried. The claim to the Stuhr Museum fund for cash <br />reserve in the amount of $50,000.00 was held for clarification. <br />Long made a motion and Abernethy seconded to approve the claim. <br />Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis and Long all voted yes and <br />Quandt and Stelk voted no. Motion carried. The quarterly claim <br />for the motor fuel tax for $1,585.59 was received and the claim <br />for G&D Janitorial for $112.00 for the underpaYment. Quandt made <br />a motion and Abernethy seconded to approve the claim for the <br />motor fuel tax and for G&D Janitorial. Abernethy, Hartman, <br />Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none <br />voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION ON KENO APPLICATIONS: Stelk stated she would like to <br />see the board advertise for the keno applications and have them <br />submitted, then determine what funds are available. Lancaster <br />stated it was good to hear from Kay Trac~but it is a difficult <br />situation when the board also had to deal with the criticism. <br />Landis stated Hall County tried to do a good thing but were made <br />out as the bad guys, so using it for the roads or Stuhr is a <br />direct property tax relief. Stelk made a motion and Abernethy <br />seconded to have the keno applications available and have them <br />submitted by 5:00 p.m. on May 29. Lisa Hagen will fax the press <br />release to the media and will be able to mail the applications. <br />Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted <br />yes and Landis voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION ON DATES FOR PROTESTS: County Assessor Jan Pelland <br />distributed a tentative protest schedule to the board. The board <br />set the formal hearings for July 13, 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., July <br />15/10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., July 1~ 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and <br />July 17 if necessary. The final action will be completed on July <br />23 at 10:00 a.m. She informed the board that she will be called <br />in on a show-cause hearing on the ag-land valuations because <br />they are not in the acceptable range. May 19 Hall County will <br />meet with the Tax Equalization and Review Commission on 12 <br />appeals. She also review information on the statistical reports. <br /> <br />Stelk made a motion by consent agenda and Landis seconded to <br />accept and place on file the office reports from the County <br />Clerk, County Court, Clerk of the District Court, Sheriff's <br />Department, Register of Deeds, Veterans Service Office, Regional <br />Planning and Health Department, Hall County Treasurer's <br />Miscellaneous Receipts, Communications, to approve the final Plat <br />for Thelen Subdivison, and to set the public hearing for Fonner <br />View liquor license for April 28, at 10:00 a.m. Abernethy, <br />
