7. C�RRIE EDWARDS — UPDAT� REGARDING MID PLAINS CENTER Corrie Edwards is the <br /> new CEO of Mid Plains Center. She stated that they have made significant changes and are <br /> doing well financially. She provided a power point presentation. <br /> • Mid Plains Center supports individuals and families in achieving their full potential in the <br /> community <br /> • It is a nonprofit community mental health center started in 1971 <br /> • They serve 22 counties in central and south central Nebraska through 7 programs <br /> • They are currently serving over 1200 Hall County Residents <br /> • She reviewed the revenue sources <br /> • The triage center and crisis stabilization unit offer emergency services and 94.5% of the <br /> 911 consumers seen at triage were not placed in emergency protective custody <br /> • They served 295 Hall County residents in 2012 <br /> • Reviewed the outpatient adult therapy services and child and family services <br /> • Reviewed th� outpatient medicatian management <br /> • Reviewed the multi-systemic therapy and it has a 95% success rate for family <br /> preservation <br /> • Reviewed the intensive family preservation program <br /> Mr. Arnold noted the medication management program is vital and all of the issues have a ripple <br /> effect. It is important to have someone who understands all of the programs and to pull from all <br /> of the recourses that are available. <br /> Th� board thanked her far the presentation. <br /> 9 SHARON HUEFTLE — DISCUS510N R�GARDING SOUTH CENTRAL �CONOMIC <br /> DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT Sharon Hueftle thanked Hall County for their participation and past <br /> membership. She acknowl�dged the letter and the cancerns. <br /> She reported that they are growing and now have a full time community planner and a business <br /> consultant. They have board of directors and the board does an evaluation of her annually and <br /> oversees and adopts the budget. Every county pays $5,000.�0 in dues. <br /> Lancaster questioned what benefit SCEDD has to Hall County. Ms Hueftle stated they want to <br /> be an extension of government. They have experience in grant administration and want ta be <br /> facilitator and help new businesses. <br /> Schuppan stated that as he reads through some of the services that are available he expressed <br /> cancern some of these are not used and other communities may profit more than Hall County. <br /> Ms Hueftle stressed that they can ga in and facilitate starting new projects. <br /> Lancaster stressed the importance of transparency in organizations and there are some <br /> concerns. Hall County will have to decide as a board if there is value to participate. Arnold <br /> stated that he was here when they started and he thought there would be value in the <br /> participations to be able ta obtain federal grants. Ms. Hueftle stated that the organization is <br /> strong and what will benefit one county will benefit another. They hav� adopted policies as they <br /> have grawn. <br /> Ms. Lancaster thanked h�r for coming. <br /> 5 <br />
