UPDATE FORM CUNGRESSMAN ADRIAN SMITH'S OFFICE Jessica Hendricks with <br /> Cangressman Adrian Smith's office stated that they are located in the Great Western Bank <br /> Building. She wanted to update the board. She noted that the fiscal cliff is taking the bulk of <br /> their time and the farm bill is a pressing issue because it expires December 30th they would like <br /> a new 5 year farm bill and do an extension of the current bill and them address the different <br /> issues but there seems to be a stalemate between the President and the house. The national <br /> defense act insures that all army bases that have been closed will still have to be cleaned up. <br /> Lancaster stated that the board appreciates the congressman. This is rural Nebraska and he <br /> recogniz�s rural Nebraska. Our economy is based on farming and he is aware how we are <br /> affected by the farm bill. He watches over our veterans and that is first and faremast, they have <br /> earned these benefits. She also stated that Workforce Development is actually economic <br /> development. She stated that Congressman Smith is always available and appreciates that he <br /> is lacated here. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION —Chairman Lancaster called for public participation and no one <br /> responded. <br /> 4. COUNTY ATTORNEY —A. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION TO TERMINATE THE <br /> INTERLOCAL COOPERATION AGREEMENT AND LEASE ENTERED INTO BETWEEN THE <br /> COUNTY OF HALL, NEBRASKA AND THE GRAND ISLAND SUBURBAN FIR� PROTECTION <br /> DISTRICT NUMBER THREE, DATED DECEMBER 22, 1992, AND TO AUTHORIZ� THE <br /> BOARD CHAIRMAN TO EXECUTE AND SEND NOTICE THERE�F TO THE GRAND ISLAND <br /> SUBURBAN FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT NUMBER THR�� —This inter local agreement <br /> allowed Grand Island Suburban Fire District to use part of the county shed ta house equipment. <br /> Casey Sherlock stated that this agreement was from December 1991 when they housed <br /> equipment for quick response. They are currently housing a camper but the agreement does <br /> not specify what type of equipment. The county receives $100.00 a year for the lease. Mr. <br /> Sherlack stated that he needs the space and wauld like to terminate the lease, but he has not <br /> talked to them. <br /> Mr. Quandt stated he would like to talk ta the fire department regarding this. <br /> Lancaster stated they built a new building and they may have additional space available. <br /> Arnold stated that the county needs to give 30 days' notice then there could be discussian and a <br /> decision made. <br /> Arnold made a motion and Ziola secanded to give notice ta Grand Island Suburban Fire District <br /> to terminate the rental agreement. <br /> Discussian was held and it was agreed that they need ta discuss this issue with the fire <br /> department. Schuppan stated that public works can meet with them. <br /> Mr. Zitterkopf questioned if the letter should be changed but Mr. Arnold stated that his mation is <br /> give notice to terminate the agreement and he is OK with the letter. <br /> 3 <br />
