<br />~ 19990421 <br /> <br />BOARD ASSISTANT'S REPORT: Stacey Ruzicka reminded the board members that the <br />regular meetings for the county board have been changed to October 5 and 26. The <br />customer service seminar will be held October 13 and she encourages all employees and <br />department heads to attend. She reported that the county budget was filed early. She <br />reminded the computer committee that there is a meeting at I :00 p.m. today. <br /> <br />BOARD MEMBER'S REPORTS: Logan - He attended the personnel committee <br />meeting, safety meeting and he reported that the merit commission has started <br />interviewing. He also attended the ADA meeting and the county picnic. He requested to <br />be excused from the October 26 meeting. <br /> <br />Stelk - She stated that there will be a computer committee meeting today at I :00. She <br />traveled to Eddyville, Iowa to view the compost plant. She attended the county picnic <br />and thanked the board for the event and hopes they will continue holding them. <br /> <br />Lancaster - She attended the NACO Central District Meeting in Grand Island and there <br />will be information on a juvenile study at the convention in Omaha. They also discussed <br />the Assessor's office transfer to the state and they have realized it is expensive to run the <br />office. She also thanked Mr. Down the new EDC director for coming to the meeting <br />today. She also attended the personnel and computer committee meetings. <br /> <br />Landis - She attended the safety committee meeting and the sale of the land at CAAP on <br />Friday. She asked Tammie Stelk for her information from Eddyville. There will be <br />another Reuse meeting October 14. <br /> <br />Arnold - He also toured the Eddyville plant. He attended a meeting at St. Francis on a <br />detox treatment center. <br /> <br />Hartman - He had a meeting at mid-Plains and toured the remodeled building and stated <br />it is a nice building. He also reported that the staff secure center at Mid-Plains needs <br />support from the courts to house juveniles there. This will be looked into. <br /> <br />Jeffries - He attend the county picnic and several personnel committee meetings. He <br />stated he received a thank-you card from the Women's Club for the keno funds. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS - Landis reported she has a copy of the revised pans for the driver's <br />license testing area-remodeling project. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 11 :25 a.m. The next meeting will be October 5, 1999 at 9:00 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />ER: The county board meetings may be viewed on GlTV Cable Channel 6 and UHF Channel <br />e esday at 8:00 p.m. and Friday at 8:00 a.m. <br />
