~ 19990421 BOARD ASSISTANT'S REPORT: Stacey Ruzicka reminded the board members that the regular meetings for the county board have been changed to October 5 and 26. The customer service seminar will be held October 13 and she encourages all employees and department heads to attend. She reported that the county budget was filed early. She reminded the computer committee that there is a meeting at I :00 p.m. today. BOARD MEMBER'S REPORTS: Logan - He attended the personnel committee meeting, safety meeting and he reported that the merit commission has started interviewing. He also attended the ADA meeting and the county picnic. He requested to be excused from the October 26 meeting. Stelk - She stated that there will be a computer committee meeting today at I :00. She traveled to Eddyville, Iowa to view the compost plant. She attended the county picnic and thanked the board for the event and hopes they will continue holding them. Lancaster - She attended the NACO Central District Meeting in Grand Island and there will be information on a juvenile study at the convention in Omaha. They also discussed the Assessor's office transfer to the state and they have realized it is expensive to run the office. She also thanked Mr. Down the new EDC director for coming to the meeting today. She also attended the personnel and computer committee meetings. Landis - She attended the safety committee meeting and the sale of the land at CAAP on Friday. She asked Tammie Stelk for her information from Eddyville. There will be another Reuse meeting October 14. Arnold - He also toured the Eddyville plant. He attended a meeting at St. Francis on a detox treatment center. Hartman - He had a meeting at mid-Plains and toured the remodeled building and stated it is a nice building. He also reported that the staff secure center at Mid-Plains needs support from the courts to house juveniles there. This will be looked into. Jeffries - He attend the county picnic and several personnel committee meetings. He stated he received a thank-you card from the Women's Club for the keno funds. NEW BUSINESS - Landis reported she has a copy of the revised pans for the driver's license testing area-remodeling project.
