<br />r19990278 <br /> <br />Hartman questioned what the speed limits would be at Cornhusker <br />Army Ammunition Plant would be. Public Work Director Dan Hostler <br />stated he would look at the roads and come back with a <br />recommendation on the speed limits. The four-way stop will help <br />reduce the speed some. <br /> <br />AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN LETTER TO WERNER CONSTRUCTION: The board <br />expressed concerns on the damage to Guenther Road that has been <br />caused by material being hauled by Werner Construction. Hartman <br />made a motion and Landis seconded to authorize the chair to sign <br />a letter to Werner Construction requesting that Guenther Road be <br />repaired once the project is completed. Arnold, Hartman, <br />Jeffries, Lancaster, Landis, Logan and Stelk all voted yes and <br />none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />APRPOVE DIESEL FUEL TAX CLAIM: Stelk made a motion and Hartman <br />seconded to approve the diesel fuel tax claim in the amount of <br />$747.61. Arnold, Hartman, Jeffries, Lancaster, Landis, Logan and <br />Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />PUBLIC PARTICIPATION - Gary Quandt, 924 West 15th presented a <br />letter to Margaret Landis and Chairman Bud Jeffries and requested <br />that the board provide a written response. <br /> <br />Yolanda Chavez Nuncio 4362 Manchester Road, Grand Island, <br />requested to speak to the Board. She wants an investigation into <br />the matter addressed in the letter. <br /> <br />Colleen Bishop expressed concerns as a citizen that minorities <br />are not treated correctly. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION AND ACTION ON INSURANCE COVERAGE ON VEHICLE: Deputy <br />County Attorney stated he did not prepare a formal opinion on <br />this matter. The Sheriff is recieving mileage for the use of <br />this vehicle. Logan made a motion and Arnold seconded to request <br />Deputy County Attorney Jerry Janulewicz to give a formal opinion <br />on this matter. Arnold, Hartman, Jeffries, Lancaster, Landis, <br />Logan and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />DON SHUDA REQUEST TO BRING A PROTION OF 110TH ROAD UP TO <br />STANDARDS: 110th Road is a minimum maintenance road and if Mr. <br />Shuda builds a home on land that he owns it would be necessary to <br />bring the road up to standards. Public Works Director Dan <br />Hostler stated that it would cost about $50,000.00 to open the <br />road and bring it up to standards. This is also a dead-end road. <br />Stelk made a motion and Logan seconded to refer this matter to <br />Public Works Director Dan Hostler and the public works committee. <br />Arnold, Hartman, Jeffries, Lancaster, Landis, Logan and Stelk all <br />voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br />
