,.,- t 19990251 RECEIVE RECOMMENDATION FROM BUILDING AND GROUNDS ON ENGINEER FOR COURTHOUSE: Logan reported that the building and grounds committee has money set aside to address this matter. They would like to hire an architect to address the issues at the courthouse. Discussion was held that the cost and the board wants to limit the cost at $12,500.00. Logan made a motion and Stelk seconded to hire Vic Auftenberge to do the engineering services at the courthouse. Logan withdrew his motion and Stelk withdrew her second. This is professional services and does not require bids. The heating and air conditioning need to be updated and Logan is requesting direction from the county board. Stelk made a motion and Logan seconded to authorize Vic Auftenberge to do the engineering survey at the courthouse and spend up to $12,000.00. Hartman, Jeffries, Logan and Stelk all voted yes and Lancaster and Landis voted no with Arnold absent. Motion carried. BOARD MEMBER'S REPORTS: Logan - He attended the audit committee meeting the ADA meeting and the building and grounds committee meeting. Hartman - He did not have any meetings. Lancaster - She attended the Stuhr Museum meeting and reported that CVB is considering the Stolley House as a possible location for offices. She thanked the road department for correcting a drainage problem at the caboose and the corrections department for painting it. She also attended a Head start meeting and the Economic Development meeting. Landis - She attended a reuse committee meeting. Jeffries - He requested that the board give him authorization to contact FMI on the South Locust Street requesting them to proceed with the negotiations. Stelk made a motion and Lancaster seconded to authorize Mr. Jeffries to contact FMI. Jeffries Lancaster, Landis, Logan and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no with Hartman abstaining and Arnold absent. Motion carried. Stelk - She questioned the minutes from the building and grounds committee meeting and requested that this matter be discussed by the full county board. She reported that Mid-America called requesting additional claim money. Stelk made a motion and Logan seconded to approve a claim for $15,000.00 for the health insurance claim account.
