<br />F 1999009H <br /> <br />~:t <br /> <br />AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN AGREEMENTS FOR PROJECT STTD 211011: This <br />is the Wood River Road project at the Bosselmans interchange. <br />They will receive $100,000.00 from safety funds for the <br />construction of the project, but there are three other agreements <br />that will need to be completed. Deputy County Attorney Jerry <br />Janulewicz is working on the other agreements and Dan Hostler <br />recommended to wait until the other agreements are completed. <br />The public works committee will meet today to discuss this. <br /> <br />BOARD ASSISTANT REPORT: Stacie Ruzicka board assistant <br />board members if they wanted to make any changes on the <br />cards and they requested to add the county fax number. <br />requested authorization to have the photo copier in her <br />cleaned and repaired. He also addressed concerns on the small <br />vending machines and recommended that the machines be removed. <br />Logan made a motion and Scott seconded to have the small candy <br />vending machines removed from the administration building by <br />April 1, 1999. Arnold, Hartman, Jeffries, Lancaster, Landis, <br />Logan and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br />He also requested information on the Head Start matter. <br /> <br />Hartman - He attended a weed board meeting and they will hire a <br />part-time secretary by April 10. <br /> <br />Stelk - She reported that the health department has had employee <br />recognition and there will be a Health Board meeting. <br /> <br />Lancaster - She attended the MAAA meeting the corrections <br />negotiations meeting and she had a computer committee meeting and <br />they will set up some dates and times for the Windows 98 <br />training. These training sessions will be at no cost. Deputy <br />County Attorney Jerry Janulewicz clarified that under the county <br />purchasing act if a purchase exceeds $10,000.00 it must be let <br />out for bids. The purchase of the computers in February was <br />under the GSA (General Service Administration) pricing. GSA has <br />a contract to buy computers at a certain price but may also be <br />able to make volume purchases at discounted prices. Mr. Arnold <br />will be able to use the GSA pricing. Logan questioned if the <br />Kansas City office of Head Start has been contacted concerning <br />some questions. Lancaster stated that she felt the questions and <br />concerns had been addressed. Landis felt this matter should be <br />addressed as an emergency because there is a March 15 deadline. <br />Stelk made a motion and Hartman seconded to add an emergency item <br />to the agenda concerning personnel and Head Start as an executive <br />session. Arnold, Hartman, Jeffries, Lancaster, Landis, Logan and <br />Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br />
