f199900sa

2:25 p.m. executive session

2:30 p.m. Arnold made a motion and Lancaster seconded to go out
of executive session. Arnold, Hartman, Lancaster Landis, Logan
and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried.

DISCUSSION ON OPINION REGARDING REVIEW OF COUNTY CLAIMS: Deputy
County Attorney Jerry Janulewicz provided a written opinion to
the board members regarding the approval of the monthly claims.
This cannot be delegated to some one else because the county
board must approve the claims. It could be referred to a
committee and they could report to the full board then they could
approve or reject and take action on the claims. Janulewicz
recommended that the board establish a procedure by a resolution
on this matter. Stelk stated that this may save time and the
claims would be investigated better. Lancaster stated that she
supports the idea and the board should approve a resolution
regarding this.

5-minute break

Landis made a motion and Stelk seconded by consent agenda to
accept and place on file the audits for the weed department, the
June 1997 audit and the June 1998 audit.
