HALL COUNTY BOARD OF �QUALIZATION MEETING NOVEMBER 2Q, 2012 <br /> 9:�5 a.m. Quandt made a mation and Schuppan seconded to ga inta a Board of Equalization <br /> meeting. <br /> ROLL CALL VOTE — Present on rall call vote were Scott Arnald, Pamela Lancaster, Bob <br /> McFarland, Daniel Purdy, Gary Quandt, Steve Schuppan and David Ziola. Also present were <br /> Deputy County Attarney Jack Zitterkopf and Board Assistant Stacey Ruzicka. <br /> NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING LAW— Chairman Lancaster read the notice of the open meeting <br /> law. <br /> MINUTES --Ziola made a motion and Quandt seconded ta apprave the minutes of the <br /> November�, 2012 meeting. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and <br /> Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION - Chairman Lancaster called for public participation and no one <br /> responded. <br /> 3. CONSIDERATION OF AND POSSIBL�ACTION ON THE REQUEST OF THE HALL <br /> COUNTY ASSESSOR AND THE HALL COUNTY ATTORNEY TO: <br /> 1) Enter into settlement negotiations with Appellants in 2011 and 2012 Tax Equalization <br /> and Review Commission appeals. <br /> 2) Retain, as necessary, experts to assist them in settlem�nt negotiatians, and in <br /> hearings before the Commission if the same should become necessary. <br /> Deputy County Attorney Jack Zitterkopf is requesting that the County Board give the latitude to <br /> negotiate the agreement that were discussed last week, The county has a gaod number af <br /> commercial appeals he is asking for the authorization to enter into negotiations and then come <br /> back to the board for approval if they negotiate a settlement. <br /> Because of the numb�r of commercial appeals they will need to hire expert witnesses as <br /> needed to determine how accurate they are on the valuatians that the county as establish�;d. <br /> He is requesting to be allowed to retain the experts to complete the appraisals and testify if <br /> n��ded. <br /> 5chuppan made a motion and Arnald seconded to allow Mr. Zitterkopf and Ms Pelland the <br /> latitude ta negotiate with the appellants and r�tain expert witnesses to assist in the settlements. <br /> Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all vated y�s and none <br /> voted na. Motion carried. <br /> 4. THE LIST Mr. Quandt asked Jan Pelland County Assessar for a list of the top 10 property <br /> owners in Hall County.
