Motion carried.
COUNTY ASSESSOR—APPEAL FOR PERMISSIVE REAL ESTATE EXEMPTION
FR THE APOSTOLIC ASSEMBLY O THE FAITH IN CHRIST JESUS —County
Assessor Jan Pelland stated that an individual is present to address this issue. This is a
building located at 705 North Sycamore that was purchased January 22, 2009. The only
cantact information on the transfer statement was an address in California so th
informatian was sent there. No exmption applicatian was received for 2D09 and for
2010 it would have been a renewal so an exemption was not approved. So the taxes
were assessed on the property.
Idalia Urbina and her husband Sergio Urbina Pastar of the Church were present. She
submitted a letter requesting that the County Board of Equalization waive the taxes and
approve the exemptian. Her husband had checked with the assessor to see if an
exemption was filed but the exemption on file was an the old lacation and assumed that
it had been changed.
Ms. Pelland stated that according to state statute the baard does not have any authority
to do anything with the back taxes. If she were audited on this particular property she
would not have an exemption on file.
Lancaster questioned if the address had been corrected and it has been changed so
they will receive the paperwork. Discuss was held.
Arnold made a motion and Quandt seconded to review this issue and come back in 4
weeks to address it. Arnold, Jeffries, Lancaster, Purdy, Quandt, Rye and Wagoner all
voted yes and none votd no. Motion carried.
