10. DISCUSS AND TAKE ACTION ON D�CLARING VEHICLE AS SURPLUS PROP�RTY <br /> AND PLAN FOR DISPOSAL- Ziola stated that during the budget meetings discussion was held <br /> on the car that is used by the IT Department. It is a 1997 Ford Crown Vic and it is in need of <br /> repairs and the repairs wauld exceed $5,000.00 and there is concern that it is nat safe to drive. <br /> Because of the condition of the car the board discussed declaring it as surplus property and <br /> disposing of it. Mr. Ziola stated that he thinks this vehicle is on the sheriff's inventory. <br /> Arnold stated that unless the vehicle is traded it will be necessary to appoint the sherifF as <br /> purchasing agent so he can dispose of the car. <br /> Arnold made a mation and Quandt seconded to declare the 1997 Ford as surplus property and <br /> assign the County Sheriff as purchasing agent to dispose of the vehicle. <br /> Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none <br /> voted no. Motion carried. <br /> Mr. Ziola will contact of the sheriff <br /> 12. EXECUTIVE SESSION - PERSONN�L Purdy made a motion and Arnold seconded to go <br /> into executive session regarding personnel. This executive session is to prevent needless harm <br /> or injury to an individual. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all <br /> voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> Held a 5 minute break. <br /> 1Q:45 a.m. executive session <br /> 11:16 Quandt made a motion and Ziola seconded to go out of executive s�ssion. No other <br /> subjects were discussed and no action was taken. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, <br /> Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> COMMITTEE OR BOARD MEMBER REPORTS - Purdy reported that there is a flu epidemic <br /> and the health department will have an announcement before the State Fair starts. He reported <br /> that Thursday there will be a physical activity in the board room with the wellness program. <br /> Quandt stated that Friday morning at 7:00 a.m. he will start dismantling the lectriver in the Clerk <br /> of the District Court's office and the metal will be sold for scrap. He asked for volunteers from <br /> the rest of the county board members. <br /> Lancaster stated that Mr. McFarland and Mr. Quandt will serve on the county team to work with <br /> the city on the half cent sales tax issue for Senior Citizens Industries. Discussion was held to <br /> invite the city to lunch at the center in 2 weeks on August 28'h the County Board will recess the <br /> meeting and go to the center. This will be an opportunity to look at the building. The center is <br /> an amazing hub of activities for the seniors. She also noted some of the other services that are <br /> available through Midland Area Agency on Aging. <br /> BOARD ASSISTANT'S REPORT-� Stacey did not have a report <br /> 6 <br />
