__ __ , 6. 10:00 A.M.PUBLIC HEARiNG RENEWAL OF A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR VERIZON WIRELESS — Quandt made a motion and McFarland seconded ta open the public hearing. Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt and Ziola all voted yes and none voted no with Amold and Schuppan absent. Mr. Humphrey statEd that this renEwal for the conditional use permit is for a tower and is a five year permit. There were no changes ta the permit and he recommends approving the request. Purdy questioned Mr. Humphrey had driven past the tower and he stated that it is well kept. The permit did expire in Sep#ember but there was alsa a change in ownership and they had problems trying to locate the awners and also getting the payment for the fees because they had to cam� from the corporate office. Mr. Humphrey stated that they are trying ta get a better system set up to notify the permit owners befor� the permits expire. Mr. Zitterkopf stated that the application takes time and they should apply before it expires. Lancaster stated that this issue had been discussed before and it was suggested to contact the permit owners three month in advance. They need to be educated to apply befare it expires. Quandt questianed if this should b� a renewal or if it should be a new application, and if the permit transfers with the new vwnership. Mr. Humphrey stated that he contacted Chad Nabity regarding this and the permit does transfer with the new ownership. The new owners should have contacted the County with the name change but that did not happen so it took time to find the contact peaple. Lancast�r stated that it is good to knaw that the permits go with the purchase of a new business. Discussian was held on the application process and Lancaster st�ted that there was no intent to not renew the permit it just toak longer. Mr. Zitterkopf stated that the Board just needs to make a decisian and move forward and adopt a policy regarding the renewal of the permits. Mc�'arland stated that it was partially the counties fault regarding the notice to renew and he feels it should be renewed. Don Sanchez with Fish and Wildlife was present they are an adjacent land owner and did receive information regarding the public hearing. They stated that they appreciated information on the current tower owner. Chairman Lancaster called for public participation and na one responded. Quandt made a mation and Ziola seconded to close the public hearing. Lancaster, McFarland, Quandt, Purdy, and Ziola all voted yes and one voted na with Arnold and Schuppan absent.
