5
12 DESIGNATE THE HALL COUNTY WEBSITE AS AN ADDITONAL METHOD OF
PROVIDING NOTICE OF MEETINGS — Mr. Zitterkopf stated that he has some issues with this.
There is a move to use electronic media for notices and that is fine and good but using more
than one place for the official agenda leave a possibility of error and we do not want to address
that.
Lancaster noted that this could be an additional site. She noted that an Adams County
supervisor had come to Hall County and proposed legislation to make the web site an additional
method.
Arnold stated that he understands the hesitation but the more we take the opportunity to use
this medium the sooner we can get away from the more costly methods and could save
taxpayers' dollars. It is a faster way of communicating.
Ziola noted that there is a move to go paperless. Schuppan also noted that the younger
generations use the online services more.
Lancaster also noted that the increasing advertising costs are an issue. She noted the notices
that the County Assessor uses. Discussion was held.
Arnold made a motion and Purdy seconded to refer this to the IT committee.
Mr. Zitterkopf stated that first and foremost is to comply with the state statutes to provide
reasonable advance notice but the official agenda is to be available at the Office of the County
Clerk.
The vote on the motion was taken. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan
and Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried
COMMITTEE AND BOARD MEMBER'S REPORTS — Chairman Lancaster called for board
member's reports and Quandt reported that he attended the Stuhr Museum board meeting and
there is a proposed road project that may affect the attendance to the museum. Quandt stated
that he will not be able to attend this meeting but Schuppan stated that he would be able to
attend.
BOARD ASSISTANT'S REPORT — Board Assistant Stacey Ruzicka reminded the board
members to review the committee assignments and get them to Pam or Dan so the committees
can be set up.
Lancaster stated that she would like to spread the responsibility of the out of town meetings
around. She would like the requests submitted by Friday and also requested that the personnel
evaluations but submitted timely. She also thanked the board members for their support for the
Chairman position.
NEW OR UNFINISHED BUSINESS — Chairman Lancaster called for new or unfinished
business and no one responded.
10:55 a.m. meeting adjourned the next meeting will be January 17, 2012 at 9:0•
n i 9 4 - nley County le ` Y t : ` .
 d•
