HALL COUNTY BOARD OF CORRECTIONS MEETING MAY 10, 2011 <br /> ROLL CALL VOTE — Quandt made a motion and Arnold seconded to go into a Board of <br /> Corrections meeting. <br /> Present on roll call were Scott Arnold, Pamela Lancaster, Daniel Purdy, Gary Quandt, <br /> Steven Schuppan and David Ziola. Bud Jeffries was absent. <br /> Also present was Fred Ruiz Corrections Director, County Attorney Jack Zitterkopf and <br /> Board Assistant Stacey Ruzicka. <br /> CALL TO ORDER - The meeting was called to order by Vice Chairman Bud Pamela <br /> Lancaster. <br /> MINUTES OF THE MARCH 1 ST MEETING — Schuppan made a motion and Quandt <br /> seconded to place on file the minutes of the March 1, 2011 meeting. Arnold, Lancaster, <br /> Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Jeffries was absent. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING LAW — Vice Chairman Lancaster read the notice of the <br /> open meeting law. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION - Vice Chairman Lancaster called for public participation and <br /> no one responded. <br /> CORRECTIONS DIRECTORS REPORT — Corrections Director Fred Ruiz stated that <br /> there has been discussion on the double bunks and he would like to put this on the <br /> construction schedule. There are funds in the inmate welfare fund. He also noted that <br /> there are no contingency fees for any of these issues so he would like to set some funds <br /> set aside for this. He noted that half of a million dollars would not go very far if there <br /> were issues with the security in this building. <br /> He reported that the kiosks have been installed and he is estimating an additional <br /> $300.00 or $400.00 more on the commissary sales. They will also offer the phone time <br /> cards on the kiosks so the inmates can buy those too. <br /> He stated that he received a phone call from the UFCW Local 22 union regarding the <br /> negotiations and they are sending a letter to the board regarding this. <br /> He also reported that an inmate by the name of John Stafford has caused some <br /> problems over the last several months. His mother has sent sever letters regarding her <br /> son. <br /> They are also working on the purchase of the finger printing equipment. This will also be <br /> another revenue stream. He will put out an RFP for this and follow the specifications <br /> that the state used. <br /> He provided copies of the policy and procedures for the department and he would like <br /> the board's input on these policies. <br /> He also provided copies of the revenue reports and currently has received <br /> 1 <br />
