HALL COUNTY BOARD OF CORRECTIONS MEETING MAY 13, 2008 <br /> The Hall County Board of Corrections met from general session and by published call. <br /> 10:00 a.m. Lancaster made the motion and Arnold seconded to go into the Board of <br /> Corrections. Arnold, Eriksen, Humiston, Jeffries, Lancaster, Rye and Wagoner, all voted <br /> yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> ROLL CALL - Members present were Scott Arnold, Jim Eriksen, Bob Humiston, Bud <br /> Jeffries, Pamela Lancaster, Bob Rye, and Daniel Wagoner. Also present was <br /> Corrections Director Fred Ruiz. <br /> MINUTES OF MEETING — Rye made a motion and Lancaster seconded to place on file <br /> the minutes of the March 4, 2008 meeting. Arnold, Eriksen, Humiston, Jeffries, <br /> Lancaster, Rye and Wagoner, all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING LAW — Chairman Jeffries read the notice of the open <br /> meeting law. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION — Chairman Jeffries called for public participation and no one <br /> responded. <br /> CORRECTIONS DIRECTORS REPORT — Corrections Director Fred Ruiz stated <br /> that they have at the new corrections facility and the officers have been doing <br /> inspections of each room. They need to move in. <br /> They have conducted tours for the local Sheriffs Department and have talked to <br /> Dodge County and Sarpy County and the Us Marshall Service. They will be <br /> coming on Friday to do a jail inspection. <br /> The staff is in the third week of training. They are trained in the food service, <br /> medication services, inmate transport and the video arraignments. They had <br /> ordered the transport vans in January but the Chevrolet dealer ships could not <br /> get the van that they wanted but they have the vans now. They have been <br /> working on the grounds around the facility. They have also advertised for the <br /> part time receptionist position and hope to be interviewing at the end of the <br /> month. <br /> Mr. Ruiz reported that they have been working with Justice Benefits for the <br /> reimbursement for foreign born inmates and they submitted a lengthily list and <br /> hope to receive some reimbursements. <br /> Lancaster stated that the corrections department has been conducting public <br /> tours of the new facility. It is a working building and will be a good working <br /> environment. <br /> qa ; <br />
